I'm not a huge fan of any of these...
I don't enjoy having pool parties because I don't like being told to get a tan (sorry, no can do, gents). Pools are also high maintenance and lower the property value, generally (some exceptions). So no on the homes with pools.
Castle house is very cool and I'd love to visit, but it would be a lot of maintenance and I'd rather do other things. I also don't walk to walk half an hour to go to my room. :D I mean, I'd probably start imagining things in a huge empty house like that!
I personally think modern houses are ugly? I think the smart features are really neat, though. The efficiency in some of them is amazing.
So, I guess I'm boring and I'll stick with the classic house. It's easier to maintain and easier to sell. It's going to be desirable for both young families and older couples that are downsizing, and I can use it as an investment property.
My dream home is mid-sized and simple, small enough to quickly clean and large enough to have people come and stay. I'd love a view of the mountains, lots of flowers for cutting and a garden. I'd want to be able to hike trails close by, but I don't want to deal with a lot of land unless I could hire the labor.
If I could obtain the financing and hire the labor for a fair wage, I'd want to do something similar to The Biggest Little Farm. I love that documentary! I'd want to be able to have lots of people from all over the world come and enjoy the beauty and join in the good work, and maybe have weddings and events, too.
I agree with you when you say small enough to clean quickly and large enough to host a get together once in a while. I also agree with the view of the mountains and it's always been my dream to have a house in that kind of setting with maybe a clean lake.
I'd probably choose something like this for me. I've always loved A-frame designs

@HawkPerception Yep. I love that! It's perfect. <3
You have good taste Ms. Potts 😉
@HawkPerception [curtsies] Thank you! So do you. :)
So as a kid I used to love touring old castle houses and making up adventure stories about who used to live there... but I do really love simple spaces. I'd love a very minimalist beach house with the sun pouring in.
I figured you'd choose beach house from your previous opinion 😊
I'm guessing you're into something more like this

Or this

I'm determined to find the one.
This one?

If not, it has to be this one

Gotcha gotcha 😊
I like modern houses. I see a lot of nice ones with nature around them that's the kind of place I want to live in. The beach house also looks modern and nicer than the other picture you chose so I voted for that :).
I like the european old buildings from the outside they look great but I don't like old interiors to live in. I see a lot of creative cool things done with modern houses that I like and the interiors are just so much better. Good isolation, floor heating, new appliences. everything is well designed and simple to use and to clean and it functions well. If you've ever had to clean an old radiator you'll ask yourself why do that to myself? I don't want creaking floors. In old buildings a lot of things are built narrow and the space is used inneficiently. In modern buildings everything is open and the space is used as well as it can be. I'm just not a fan of this lifestyle. Our time is precious and I don't want to spend mine dealing with problems that have already been solved. And I actually like the look of modern buildings too.
I picked "rustic," but it would be more accurate to say my favorites are mountain log and/or timber frame. My second favorite would be Victorians.
I hate the modern "make everything a box and paint it white" crap.

Beach house don't like the sun but with a pool I don't mind.
Personally though I would have small nothing on the surface special about it. Maybe a bungalow but then underneath have a long stretched room which has all my collectables in it.
If we’re talking pure fantasy then the castle house. If we’re talking in terms of affordability, I am homeless lol
You and me both. And yeah the question was more about taste than which one you'd buy 😂
I like the rustic style homes, it is what I currently own overlooking the bay. They work in the countryside but not really in the city.
Yeah I love rustic too. Cabin/cottage style using natural materials is my thing
@HawkPerception Farm house
Which you don't have, so either rustic or castle in big farm can work
Yup I can't put every house style here, which is why I said "out of these" 😅
@HawkPerception
Rustic +castle on 200acre lol
I live in something like the rustic one, but mine is bigger lol.
Lucky guy. I know it's not luck that got you there. Just a phrase.
Thanks sir, and umm it was some luck. Lots of hard work, but I also got lucky finding it.
Love to have a miniature castle house, about 3,500 square feet. A moat (swimming pool) built around the castle might be going a little bit overboard, but nice and a way to get rid of unwanted visitors
Any house with a swimming pool so that I always swim with my friends.
Castle House. Just saying. I can't afford it but I wouldn't mind living there!
Probably classic. I mean look at that garage space.
I like the first 3 but it would have to be the castle. I'd ride electric go cart around in it.
Tie between rustic and castle
I pick the rustic house.
Castle House.
