Are zombies actually evil?

Serious question. Zombies are obviously a menace, but are they actually, truly evil? Does a zombie have a soul, an intellect, or a will?

Doesn't this keep anyone up at night?

evil means harming. if i break my own window i didn't hurt you but if i break your window that is evil.

if we agree, then zombies not only harm but they kill, bigger harm so bigger evil.

your doubt about intellect is not a factor. people use intellect to justify harming others if pope or muslim leader send me on a holy war, my submission justified harm. so it is not a factor.

According to the science in the walking dead (which I consider the most realistic) zombies are dead people, it's an infection that kills off most of the brain but activates two parts of the brain, the part that makes us move and the part that asks for food when you are hungry, which is why they only know to eat and move, it's why a headshot is what you should aim for and it seems most zombies from all fantasies have the same spot to kill them and that's the head.

They can't be, evil would mean they have bad intentions but what's left of their brains can't properly but good and bad together, they are basically just animals, more dangerous and vicious animals

No they're not. Is a shark evil when it bites your leg off? No it's just following it's genetic programming to hunt and feed. It's the same with zombies when they smell your delicious brain.

We share this planet with lots of animals that would eat us given half the chance and we usually manage to avoid that fate, even put measures in place to protect these predators.

But zombies? For some reason we feel the need to demonize them for following their natural instincts.

Personally, I don't take any chances with them. That's why I practice head shots; center of mass is ineffective against zombies.
