Very logical thinker.
I learned the hard way, what divorce means in America. it’s about making sure two people to stay apart and fighting through this concept of no fault divorce.
so I decided (after some months… ) I learned the best way to resolve this is from court/the system is to not give in to their evil way of handling things… that’s correct!! We can go beyond the system!! Once I learned that I knew I can do anything.
so I worked with my ex hubby to end court visits by not receiving alimony and child support… and just work out things on my own at the same time to make sure my ex also work with me to continue to raise kids so kids know that we are still loving parents who care about them that they know that they are our priority and not a victim (it is obvious in a divorce … those who hurt the most are kids).
that decision was made years ago and due to that… our kids are thriving and we are all very successful because of that decision.
the divorce was initiated by ex hubby… was I hurt… very much so like others the depression/sadness… told to take meds. That too I refused. My strong well have taking me, my family to a level beyond my belief.
do people agree with how I handle things… not at all and glad I didn’t solve these problems based on others approval.
Yes, I think so. Half the trouble with solving problems lies in accurately identifying what the problem is to begin with.
For example, lots of people think they are lazy because they don't put stuff away. But the reality is that most people usually will put stuff away if it's easy to do so and there is a clear home for the item. It's jarring to leave something on a clean, clear surface and if it's just as easy to put it away, they will. The real problem with staying organized, apart from too much volume for the space, is convenience.
Organizing shows are a great example because the systems don't usually fix the problem. They have a good start (edit items and make a home for everything) but they tend to fall apart because the system is too complicated to maintain (fold everything a la Konmari). I'd love a follow-up with those shows to see if the clients actually maintain the perfect organization (unlikely). People aren't necessarily lazy. The systems that are implemented are just poor systems.
I LOVE coming up with systems that fit my exact need! My dad was an aerospace engineer and kids of engineers can be kind of odd. At the same time I am largely a spontaneous personality, I also am very attached to extreme organization. So is my brother. It is hilarious when the two of us get together to carry out a task.
@Caroline91 That's so cool! Getting a job done with enthusiasm and innovation? Bring it on! :D Love that.
Had a student who hated to write essays and simply refused cuz all his previous teachers said he was indifferent and lazy but he was one of the most talented sketch artist, painter, illustrator i had ever met. His doodles belonged in the Louvre.
We came to a compromise. He creates cartoon panels with the narrative of the current topic. I put in a "placeholder" grade until he handed in a explanation of his artwork and what it represents, why he put those particular words in the characters mouths, why he choose these colors or background, etc.
I now have the most comprehensive world history cartoon series ever that i used with all my next years classes and he graduated with honors and successfully completed his masters in mechanical engineering after a bachelor's in architecture. he's gotta be pulling down $150 - $200K by now.
Great kid! Great family! Great happy ending. If you can't meet the kid where they're at you have no business being in the classroom.
That was BRILLIANT... Lucky kid!
@Caroline91 best advice i EVER got as a teacher was SO SIMPLE its often overlooked: "Meet them where they're at"
Nope. I log jam. Getting frustrated then my thoughts pile up and I get angry and tear shit up.

I worked at my university's Extension Courses Dept (online learning), providing student support. Essentially, if a problem couldn't be solved anywhere else, it got to me and I served as a liaison between the student and the department. By the time things got to me, usually both the student and the staff were pretty frustrated with each other. Every single time, the first thing I did after listening to both sides, separately, so they could finish venting, was look for a point of. unity, something both sides could agree on. Sometimes the only thing they could agree on was that there was a problem. Fine, then that was the starting point and we built a solution from whatever the starting point was. All I had to do was facilitate the process and almost always there was a solution both sides were happy with.
Just logical analysis and what i call problem partitioning and applying what I call the reverse Sherlock Holmes principal i. e. what is most likely to have gone wrong is what went wrong.
Most people - except for girls - do the same. Girls seldom know what components are involved in anything so just can't take those steps. Especially with cars which seem to be a complete mystery for them.
Girls, in general, are very good at doing it with emotional problems. We can see which components are contributing to the misunderstanding pretty easily, while the guys are still scratching their heads and wondering what happened and how to fix it.
@Caroline91 Good to see we are complementary again. Yeah have to acknowledge your point.
I like your use of the word complementary. Why does it seem so difficult for so many to see that men and women are supposed to be exactly that to each other?
@Caroline91 A key point. If we have specialized capabilities inherent to our gender then it will mean that a couple is more capable than as singles. It will apply to a tribal group group as well as couples.
This obviously advantageous evolutionary. Our primary advantage was the ability to work together like as in a group of hunters taking on animals like mammoths.
Likewise I find it hard to see why many don't see that. Of course our major collaboration is producing offspring.
Yes.
My best was a dozy and ended with the insurance company apologizing to me. Something the lawyer said would never happen. Good thing I tackled it myself and didn't hire him. Did send him a text copy of the voicemail though... lol
I look at both sets of facts, data points, look for correlations that make logical sense, and think my way through the issue so… Yes!
My main goal is to find a compromise / common ground though if the person is unwilling, that is a problem.
Sometimes, when there are not too many what if's.
Each problem has a solution.
Logic: when there's no solution, there can't be a problem
Sure. But I’m an even better problem starter.
Lol 😂
very much so! It's something I pride myself on.
Yes i am, im always doing it and i am very good. It is probably because i have Autism
That is how I made a living.
Ummm urrrrr. Only in school 😭
Usually, yes.

Yes, I am a professional problem solver.
It’s practically my job.
