Depends on how it's asked. I don't excel when asked: "solve this", but I can generate options when asked: "solve this using the least resources."

"Show me a good time", and I'm all thumbs. "Help me get relaxed on a tight budget", and I know where to start.

Depends on the problem. Other people's life problems, I am quite good at solving. Riddles, for example... not so much.
