It depends. Yes, I hold my playing cards close to my chest, but at work I share information freely. Even if I made a mistake.
I guess it depends on the situation and maybe the person

*NO*
Maybe some people have noticed... I am very open and frank about everything regarding myself; I feel I have nothing to hide. I may not always be right, and I can most certainly accept that. It pushes me to do better.
(I am an 'over-sharer', no question about that. I feel a very strong need to explain myself well)
I do not think I stand to gain anything from my activities... nor do I want to... so I strongly feel I have no reason to *withhold information to gain any kind of advantages*.
However, because I have a very strong bias towards certain sides in conflicts in the world, I cannot help it that some of my comments ('Opinion') do show some bias. I do not want to change people's minds, I want to raise awareness.
Nope. Honesty is always best. (Though some things are none of my business, so there can be a fine line... but I would never define that line based on a personal advantage to me.)
I agree that honesty is best in relationships, but what about something like travel destinations to prevent tourists from swarming the area so you have a place that's mostly to yourself. Or knowledge in your field to maintain a competitive advantage?
No, it'll eventually come back to bite you once the person/people in the conversation figure out the person withholding information new about it all along.
Even when it's stuff like travel locations to prevent tourists swarming or information in your field to maintain a competitive edge?
The only time I would withhold information in my field is when I've signed a non-disclosure agreement with the agencies. For example, I work with American Ginseng which is a highly sought after species and would not disclose the location to just anyone. As far as a vacation location, I would share that with any of my friends and family.
Friends and family, but not strangers right?
And what if you ran your own business? Would you give all other businesses all the tips you know?
Correct, not strangers.
I may help a new up and comer, especially if I were around retirement age. Good to know someone else is taking on the legacy.
Gotcha. Appreciate the clarification! 😁
No problem👍
There is sharing and over sharing! At work it's usually none of Thier business!
Usually under share cause they will get an email about it and if not it was not meant for them

How do you deal with obsessive compulsive disorder?
@dudegreat91 it more learning how to live with it. Finding things that are healthy being obsessive about, like career, family etc.
most of us obsess over stuff that isn't healthy like anxiety, stress, thoughts of paranoias.
I did a Podcast about it on the Rumbling Facts Podcast explaining it.
Im always gonna feel like a prison in my mind, but I find solace in helping others with my music DjRetsam, or Rumbling Facts Podcast or Charity giving books to others. called Making Others Read
Yes, I am like the Sphynx.
No. I like to lose.🤷♂️
With personal information, I never say much.
No. I don’t manipulate people.
I wouldn't say withholding information is manipulating people. If anything, it's doing nothing to them
You’re basically lying by omission which DOES hurt the other person.
If it's something like cheating, then yes. If it's something like keeping a competitive advantage in business or travel destinations then no.
I am not only talking about relationships with a romantic partner
why not
