I have a question for the older music 🎶🎸🎷🎺 buff's on here. How did the song In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida get it's name?

This was one of the biggest, long running rock-'n'-roll songs played in 1968. The band was The Iron Butterfly.
NO CHEATING! NO GOOGLING IT! EITHER YA KNOW OR YA DON'T KNOW.
I HAPPEN TO HAVE FOUND OUT MANY YEAR'S AGO. I WANT TO SEE IF ANYONE ELSE KNOWS.
That year we all sang that song around other people, yet, none of us knew what it meant but we sang the heck out of it.
The original vinyl album cover is totally psychedelic looking - like an acid trip.

In the garden of Eden. People heard it wrong or the singer just kinda mumbled it, instead and it became what it is.
In `69 to `71, I was in Jr. high and, every day, during lunch, all the drummers and wannabe drummers in the school would sit at one of the tables and bang out the entire drum solo on the table with their bare hands. So, you'd have at least a dozen guys sitting around this table pounding that out. I think Rich Cordisco was the closest to getting it right and everybody else followed him.
I didn't join in because I don't think I'd ever heard the album version, yet so, I wasn't familiar with the solo and, besides, everyone in the school thought I was some kind of dweeb and nobody wanted to be around me so, I never bothered.
I also never bothered to learn the solo but I could probably make my way through most of it

As I recall (and didn't need to google it,) the lyrics originally were "in the garden of Eden," but the singer was drunk when the song was recorded, and he slurred the words.

I thought the two of them were writing it together but the one doing the actual writing spelled it like it stayed.
Yes, it was supposed to be In The Garden of Eden - meh, pretty close when you're drunk🤪

The way I heard it was there were 2 bandmates that decided to write a new song together and one of them drank an entire bottle of wine and the other one wasn't drunk.
The drunk one had titled the new song "In the Garden of Eden" but it came out In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida

Maybe it was a famous local band miss sage, you're speaking about the 60's, it was the era of the beatles, elvis presley, los lobos and maybe jimi hendrix... etc

Okay miss sage, i googled and no i know nothing about them and it seems that this song that you have mentioned was their top hit in 1968, i'm surprised that they remained active till 2015 or more but there are past and current members...
