Whatever happened to "Plant Minder" indoor planter pots?

I remember my grandma had these. They were plastic planters that had a reservoir that you filled with water, and it watered the plant roots automatically, so you didn't have to worry about going someplace for a couple of weeks. I know they existed. But I google them now and nothing comes up. I can't even find a picture of one, or even seen one in ages for that matter. Maybe they were just a California company?

When I did a quick search (NOT on Google- I use DuckDuckGo) I found lots of self-watering flower pots and planters. And, we still have two types of self-waterers from years ago: the "globes on a spike" type, and the wick-type.

The planters had a reservoir that you filled up with water. It was built into the pot.

Plenty of those too. We found that the ones with the integral pan on the bottom/side tended to keep our plants a little too wet. We usually used the globe- that worked the best for our plants. YMMV.

I don’t use them but I do know a few friends who do when they go travelling.

That is the Mandela Effect Einstein. That's how people have knowledge of the things. I HEARD the announcement he had died in 1995. Then many years down the road he was released from prison. I had the Mandela Effect before it was a named thing in reality.
