Should I feel sorry about my friend who got fired from her job at my work?

She called in too many times and they fired her for it and she worked with us in our group making the potato slabs to go up into the freezer so we can put them in boxes to package off

When they hire someone they expect good attendance, or they are not worth having. They hire people to do a job, not to not show up.

I know and she was like doing a good job in the cryotech machine and had experience

That was my thought too when I read about it. I would want to rule this out as a cause before I moved on to something else more Judgmental.
