What does my friend mean by ‘I’m not as nice as people think’?

I have a new friend and when I first met her, she looked like a sweet nice woman and she is. She’s a Christian, kind, loving and all but when I got to know her, she is sarcastic, witty and can be a little rude sometimes. I was shocked. She seems nice but she has a mean streak on her sometimes. One of the guys said, “You’re so lucky to be friends with someone like (her name). She is such a nice girl.” Then she said, “Oh I’m not as nice as people think. I’m NOT nice.” She looked at me and said, “One of these days you will see my “mean” side.”

She kind of intimidated me when she gave me a stern look. You see I’m a nice girl that always gave a sense of what a nice person has.

lol well I’m exactly like her. I used to belong to a club and because a had a big beard and seemed to be very nice they nicknamed me “teddy bear” a long time later one of the club members pissed me off and I got in his face and blasted him. After that exchange one of the members came up to me and said "”we were wrong, you are not a teddy bear you are more like Chewbacca. I was afraid you were going to rip his arms off”.
I too have a sarcastic side and I believe am the male version of your friend.
We (her and I) are nice people…. Just don’t get us angry.

I don’t my best not to tick her off. I do respect her. She can be blunt like painful honest and she won’t spare your feelings. She will tell you the truth, even if it hurts your feelings.

That is me! I can be brutally honest. I fully understand this girl… actually admire her. I hate people that lie to you to protect your feelings….
I give my friends a hard time too but not like I give it to my enemies.
And I have a lot of friends. They must be ok with the honesty.
