I think it's human and normal to choose immortality. I can't believe anyone would truthfully choose "die in 5 years". But your question does pose interesting questions regarding this. Does being immortal still mean you age? Can you still get sick or injured? Even if your life is infinite the universe is not. Does that mean when our sun dies you still live? Does that mean as as star formation ceases you live in the cold dark universe as even black black holes evaporate away? Because if that be the case I may have to change my answer.🤣
Then you didn't see my question coming. Living forever is a trap, I have seen the world get to close to my definition of hell and I think its inevitable. My only escape at that point would be death.
Lets say what I fear comes true, our brains are now readable by electronics. Freedom is no more, there is literal thought policing, forced labor for wrong thinkers, etc. At that point i'd rather die, but if I am unable to that would be an eternity of slavery.
Meanwhile if I die I either go to a really nice place or everything stops existing. Thats better for me than living in a potential dystopia. Living forever is only fun when the world is in a good place, and history has shown thats not a given.
5 years cause I believe in an after life, I know your choice is to live forever and watch the world fall apart, starve but never for death 😂
To**
I can understand and respect such desires, which at this point our perspectives and beliefs play a part, I can understand such desires cause partially id be curious as well but according to what I believe I already know how the world will end and even if I didn't feel certain about it, I believe my soul will live and exist throughout that time and I don't know if I'll see it, feel it or just know but we aren't much different cause if I didn't have this belief, I think I'd be in the same train of thought as you, wanting to live forever, seeing no point in death, I think it's without our nature to feel a form of curiosity to seeing the end of things we experience, like seeing the end of a movie or reaching the end of a sandwich, or hotdog, getting to the end of a coffee, running out of pen ink etc.
Within* not without
I would pick live forever only if that means I would not develop wrinkly skin, white hair or diseases and I will also not be in any terrible accident which would rob me of my ability to live normally.
I rather be dead than paralysed in a well chair. I rather be dead than live blind. I rather be dead than living with dementia or severe arthritis. If I got into some terrible accident which made my lose my limbs or caused me to become burn victim which made me look permanently disfigured I would rather be dead.
I'd want to know if I stayed young and healthy or I'd just keep aging until i became an immobile senile drooling cabbage.
But if i kept my health then i choose immortality. Yes there be things like seeing loved ones die but that's part of life and we move on. The world would change as its suppose to but isn't the point of life to be there and observe it.

I'll be honest, I voted A but I am tempted by B as well.
Ultimately I chose "A" because me being immortal doesn't mean my family and friends will be. Which means I'd have to Watch my wife and children get old and die while I won't be ever able to reach them.
What would you choose?
I undestand.
Hopefully it won't end like it ended in a short story I read of Anne Rice - where the immortal vampire protagonist ended up being the only being in a barren world where humanity went exinct, forced to wander forever and unable to die.
I pity every single one of those people here that answered that they would like to live forever because nowhere in this question is it mentioned that you are healthy.
How would you like to live forever with a debilitating diseases that robs you from your sleep, that makes you scream in pain 24/7, that makes a vegetable out of you?
I don't think that many of those who voted to live forever would be willing to go even one single year in those conditions. There is not even a guarantee that a remedy would be found to cure that ailment.
I suggest that those that want to live forever go for one day to an oncology station where patients are awaiting to die, praying that it is now rather than tomorrow because their cancer is taking away their dignity.
Good luck to those. I will definitely chose the 5 years.
The thing with these eternal questions is to think of ideal situations unless it's described otherwise.
@Aakash_Hangargi what about in 3.5 billions years from now when the sun engulfs the earth and makes life impossible on it?
You can move to different universe you are eternal talk to other eternal beings create something new learn mystic arts be a god 🎆🥳
Living forever would be nice. I know all the usual drawbacks: quality of life, seeing everyone else you love leave, etc.
But, just think of what you could learn and accomplish? What you could do? You could live to spend time with your triple-great grandchildren. I feel like it would be an amazing experience.
. Well see that's just the first part of the story
Because if you choose to die then that means you're going to be judged and you might have to come back to this planet and do it all over again
Or if you choose to live then you never die and you never know the place that you were supposed to go when you did everything right so it's a win lose all the way through moral of the story be good do what's right and when it's your time it's your time LOL
Dying in 5 years. Living forever is a curse that most people don't know is a curse until your absolutely screwed. You have absolutely no idea what your getting yourself in to. Knowing I die in 5 years also means I can restructure my life to life the fullest for 5 years rather than focusing on building a sustainable future for myself.
I picked die in five years, since your question could be taken as a Faustian premise. What I mean is, much like Satan temping Faust with eternal life and then Faust being miserable for eternity, there is no guarantee of good health or happiness. What if for eternity you are in great pain and bedridden? The devil, as they say, is in the details.
Living forever.
I'm not scared of dying, but death is frustrating, for someone as curious as me.
Imagine, you'll die someday. And you'll miss all the great things that will happen later. All the scientific discoveries, the first colonies on another world, the great people... all those things will happen and you won't be there to witness it.
Just thinking about that makes me mad.
Interesting. Living forever would make me furiously mad
Live forever. Then there's a better chance to share the gospel of Christ with more and more people!!
Die in 5 years. Living forever does not sound appealing at all.
Every time they show some guy living forever of The Twilight Zone they give him some problem where you want to die the next day.
*on the Twilight Zone, sorry.
Hmmm hard one, at times I would be reaching for the non Immortality one. Other times I would be ready to watch the end of time
Before I answer, would the red pill mean I can't be killed or just that I wouldn't die of natural causes?
I've dealt with suicidal thoughts since 2014, so whats 5 more years before guaranteed shit XD
@coxoabean an ongoing thing still. But less than before so progress has been made <3
I am glad it is less than before, but I hope and pray that you will feel better overall soon! 💖 I am sorry for whatever it is you may be going through to make you feel that way, and I hope peace upon you in life. I know we don't know eachother, but if you ever need anyone to talk to, I'm here. I actually used to feel the same way, wanted to commit and have attempted several times, but thank God I'm still here. It's all really thanks to my good friend Adam, who passed away 3 years ago on the 20th of this month. He was 15 when he committed. I miss him every single day. His words have been what kept me here. So I understand the feeling
@coxoabean I'm sorry to hear of your struggles and of your friend. I appreciate you offering your support. <3
If I were to die in 5 years, I would have no regrets.
I would opt out, I’d rather live another 50 or so years and then die
Forever is a long time humans would die out, earth will be destroyed in a billion years and at some point you will be stuck in a place you can't escape from so I'll pick 5 years
Gee I don't know🤔
Live fore... ever... or die in five.
Umm, I'm gonna go with live forever.
Definitely dying in 5 years. I wouldn't have to worry about long term plans and could live the rest of those 5 years eating, drinking, being merry and doing amazing crazy shit.
I wouldn’t mind dying right now with my life being the way it is, but when I die is not for me to decide. If choosing neither is impossible, curse me with immortality I guess.
In this world as it is? Die in five years. Living forever would turn into Hell eventually. as the Sun burned out and all life perished, leaving me alone floating in space.
See I’m inbetween both but if I am going to go for one it’s gotta be live forever
I'd pick dying in five years despite the fact that I'm nineteen but I'm wise and know that life wasn't meant to last forever on earth we were made. mortals for a reason.
Die right now of course. Only children want to live forever. @Account
Be nice to have a pill to be able to expire when someone you truly love expires
When you say love for ever do you mean just immortality or also not being able to die from like a car crash or something like that as well. Bit like the mark of Cain in Lucifer if you've seen that?
Dying in 5 years. Living is already too much of a pain as is. I wouldn't want to live forever.
I'll choose living forever in jannah in the afterlife ✨😇
I don’t want to die in five years so in this situation I’m only left with one alternative to live forever
Die in 5 years. Living forever sounds awful.
Probably live forever.
Forever if I am not disabled.
maybe five years would be too long.
I’d choose five years.
Dying in 5 years
neither of those
Living forever.
Emotionally tired
