Worst day ever?

Yesterday was the worst day ever. It was worse than I could have imagined. I lost my job with very little knowledge that it would happen. Then less than 24 hours later, my fiancée got COVID-19. So now she and I can't be near each other for 10 days.

I really hope bad things don't come in 3's because I don't want to know what will happen next.

What are your worst day ever stories?

Oh nooooo I'm sorry to hear that!!! It's gonna be stressful but look at it as ten undistracted days to look and apply for a new job! Or... if your girlfriend doesn't feel rough with the covid... use the distance to explore some long distance fun. Teasing eachother online. The build up will be amazing before you get to connect in person again...

She and I live in the sane house. Luckily it's arranged with three half levels (it's built on the side of a hill). Still being physically close, but unable to see each other is rough.

You know both my daughters had covid and I didn't catch it despite being around each other. And my friends husband had covid and she never got it despite still sharing same bed.
But I understand if you have reasons you can't risk it!

I have a weakened immune system. Pretty much anything I get require hospitalization

Ah yeah I did think must be that. Can you turn it into something sweet and romantic tho? The distance. Start leaving loving little notes for eachother to find or little gifts... in areas you both can be near (but not cross)...

If you’ve got some skills everyone is looking for good people, use the time and find yourself a better job. If they were willing to cut you loose with no notice you’re probably better off looking for a new job anyway

I do have skills that are in demand, and all jobs I am looking for are remote which means thus COVID-19 issue won't affect my ability to do them.
I applied to 4 yesterday, but I doubt they'll respond before Monday.

When I was 19, my dad died unexpectedly in his sleep, leaving me with no living family. I would have to lose a spouse or child to challenge that.

Possibly, but I am in isolation alone and without an income.

Start looking for a job. I haven’t worked in almost 2 years and I’m getting in trouble and I’ve got expensive property taxes coming up. which they doubled last year
