Last Wednesday had to be one of my worst days. It began when in the morning I was on my laptop, and suddenly my peripheral vision became blurry and unclear. It was almost like the colors blended like zigzag lines, or a kaleidoscope. It lasted for 15 minutes. The first thing I thought was--retinal detachment, being I have a daughter with a condition in which she may have this happen. Then, a stroke. To rule out the first, I went to my oculist and she did a whole exam--ruled out anything wrong, and advised me to go to an ER in case it was a stroke as I had thought. I had to leave my car there in the parking lot, while an ambulance took me to my hometown hospital. In short--it was not a stroke thank God, but an ocular migraine. I had a headache in the ambulance and thought it was due to the stress. So now I need to see a doctor to see what might have triggered this. I had to leave my car in that lot overnight, because I didn't get home until about 8:00pm. Meanwhile the headache lasted all night and until the following day. A nightmare, really.
My best day was when I went to Spain with my daughters and we were on a bus traveling through some mountains. I saw the awe on my youngest's face as she watched the mountains come around the corner. We took a bus to Bilbao, and then to see their cousin who lived near the northern coast. We also saw a bit of a coastal French town as it was a half an hour away. It was my favorite trip with them.
