Do you recall the worst day of your life?

One day in my life for the last 54 years was the worst until recently.

On 5/7/70, my dad passed away from liver cancer at 42 when I was 11 years old.
I was devastated.

That was my worst day until 3/3/24, when I went into cardiac arrest and was violently and painfully yanked back into this world.
I shouldn't be here.

Many more horrible things have occurred in my and my family's lives in the last 6 months.

It's very hard for me to want to go on living.

I'm trying.

When hospital personnel asks you to sign papers, in order to legally allow unconsented admission to mental hospital for a relative.

It turned out to be a good decision but... So freaking hard to consider 😔

I do. Before I was knocked out, when I woke up, the hospital visit, suicide attempt and a bit of the aftermath

Yes, it was the day my father died. I was unemployed and in graduate school trying to train for a new career and it was not going good. I was just walking out of my house and the phone rang. It was somebody from where my father worked and said he collapsed and was in the hospital. By the time I got to the hospital he had died. I was totally blindsided. I never thought of him as old.

Thanks man. It was 23 years. Ago I'm OK with it now. If you've never had a parent die it's something you never get over. But you do learn to deal with it better over time.
