Do you celebrate your birthday?

I only celebrate it cause my family doesn't let me not celebrate it, I'm just glad it's not made a big deal like I see others have, who even made up birthdays, who made it a celebration, the only good thing about it is the idea of knowing you were born on that day of the year long ago but it's kinda egotistic, celebrating another year of our existence like we aren't a plague to the planet 😂

Let's not forget we are only celebrating a year closer to our death, not much of a reason to celebrate if you think of it lol

Let's be foreal the best part of any birthdays is the cake 🥳

Ok, story time my young fellow traveler!

I once thought exactly the same way you do. I couldn't stand my birthday. On top of that I was a twin so I never had my birthday to myself so it was double agony. My mother-in-law took notice of the fact that I do not like my birthday. One year she pulled me to the side and she said *listen and she put her hands on my shoulders and look me square in the eye and said "your birthday has absolutely nothing to do with you". She said "it's a chance for other people to say we're glad you're here"

MIND BLOWN. EPIPHANY. EVERYTHING ALIGNED AND I HAD WISDOM, FORESIGHT AND KNOWLEDGE DROPPED ON ME LIKE A THUNDERBOLT FROM ON HIGH!!

I never looked at my birthday or anybody else's birthday the same way again. I actually enjoy them now because it gives me a chance to spread that wisdom to other people who don't like their birthday - and believe me there's a lot of us!

last, actual birthday party I had was at age 9... that was a PARTY... lol

never been fond of it, so all that stopped since then

ever since, my birthday has been, pretty much, just another family BBQ and I do prefer it that way but then of course, friends... especially the girls who are my friends, who just never let go, and still want to take me out and celebrate some, lol

but even those were lowkey, and very much like many other times we would go and hang out, lmao

No I don’t celebrate my bday 😆 I’m old fashion and mostly think about the important milestones like 70,80,90, 100 years old to celebrate.
cake! 🎂 😂 we have like 8 grand kids (my mom) in the family now and whenever we celebrate with a cake… we all gather to sing and blow out the candles for the little ones… then all goes out to play and no one eats the cake.

My brother has 2 kids, older sister 2 kids. Me, 2 and my little sister 1 so far and heard another coming 😊 love my big family.

Yeah, I usually go out and do something with my partner during the day and have dinner with my family. Though this year since we now have a baby, we didn’t do anything on my actual birthday except for having my sister babysit for a few hours, and we had a family dinner a few days later with home made cake.

I don’t usually but this year, my birthday is Oct 3 to which I’ll be 33 on a Thursday. I plan to fuck it all the way up and play hookie with work the following morning. My sister and I have a whole day planned and night planned.

Yeah. My wife and I celebrate each other's birthdays by doing something special like going out to dinner or taking a vacation.
It has been over10 years since we had any big parties with friends, though.
