Depends on what situation you're referring to. If we're talking about a friend in need of assistance, personally speaking, I do a bit more than just showing up and actually going the extra mile if need be. There have been times when there were fellas I knew whom I didn't even like that much, but they were going through a rough patch in their life, and I willingly lent them some money because they needed it, without them even returning it to this day, but maybe that's just me

Helping out someone isn't a competition to see who's the "better friend" or who's more useful when called for, and true friends and loved ones will always appreciate the effort you put in, regardless of if it's big or small, and they'll thank and appreciate you for it

I’ve been working on a lot of boundaries. I’ve been trying to work on a lot of self appreciation and self love and just been doing a lot better for being a good friend and good daughter and better person.

It depends. After my dad died, I have no remaining living relatives and felt truly alone. Friends just being there, even if they said nothing, was quite comforting.
