Does anyone know why electrical outlets in your home are all vertical except in the bathroom they are horizontal?

The reason I even noticed that is because I bought some really cool night lights for my bathroom but I can't use them horizontally because they are about 8" high with flowers and leave's. The base changes to all different colors and so do the colored mushrooms in the bouquet.
It's really beautiful to watch when vertical but not horizontal. 🤷🏼‍♀️

Except for the light switches, I don't think I even HAVE any in my bathrooms! In MY house, I think the ONLY one that MIGHT'VE been horizontal in the bathroom was the one directly under the mirror above the sink. Most of the horizontal ones were in the wainscotting all around the house.

I had to check my house. LOL. All of our outlets, including those in our guest bathroom are vertical. But the two above the sinks in our master bathroom are horizontal because they fit between the tile back splash and the large mirror.

The horizontal orientation of electrical receptacles is usually due to limitations in the framing of the wall in which they are installed.

Not always, but usually.

Traditionally they are vertical, but can be put horizontal too, depending on the room they have to put it.
