What was the best era for clothing?

I've heard that the 40s and 50s were too strict (everything was ironed, always in a suit, stockings, so it was a lot of work to get ready). But now people are too relaxed with what they wear (such as pajama bottoms). So what was the best era that mixed fashion with comfort?

I would have to say for me this current era is to my liking.

1940… but I would say 1990s… always so simple and comfortable.. we had oversized t shirt belts and a beedazzler machine :-)
