Not only a mouse and a bird, but a mole, a baby rabbit and a... snake!
how do you feel when it brings you one?
I don't like any of it, especially the baby bunny that was still alive. But the snake? I was in a hurry to get somewhere and went to step out the front door when I saw this thing on the mat and just about had a heart attack. I didn't know it was dead at first. But I have such a fear of snakes, that even a dead on makes me almost hysterical.
Yup, our outdoor cats have left headless squirrels on the porch too

Growing up my cat brought us gifts all the time. One time he brought a bird into my parents bedroom. My mom was freaking out cuz it was flying everywhere 😂
i have a lifetime of being the crazy cat lady and im proud of it... when i dwelled in the countryside my cats would leave remains of baby rabbit feet and waste sack maybe tail everytime... my now more small town cats bring in little voles quite often alive, so i save as many as i can... rarely a live bird... feathers only outside the back door sometimes... and get this... RAT DEATHS is a rat body laying at least up on the path, far away from the house, its a clean kill... and no other disturbance... they know killing a rat is a different part of the process... I've been involved in breeding cats in a controlled environment and also where the dam is free... when kittens get to a specific point, matching in when mumma needs some assistance regarding nutrition... brings a live vole it was a regular thing with her... so every ounce of a cats outstanding self sufficient proud nature, when this one thing is offered to us, it tells us, i actually am looking out for you too! im thinking its the only real act they can do, to provide also... lmao to myself.. my 18yr dd said yesterday, whilst discussing our recently neutered two half brothers, both in their cones of shame.. gizmo launched at my hand for ham like a monster, she said.. yeah but dont forget they will eat you if you died!!! maybe thats why i keep so many lol xxx
Yeah my cat used to kill moles which was good.. but he also killed squirrels and birds and would put them on my front step, once he got in trouble for those he stopped killing them and would just put moles there. He was a smart cat and I loved him..
Haha when I was a kid our cat brought a headless bird and dumped on me in bed! That was gross.
I also love birds so it's sad when they kill or injure them. But I understand they are doing what cats do and I appreciate the "sentiment" they have behind giving you a gift.
Yes. We had one that liked to bring small animals barely alive. I think I was around 7/8 and I had to try and put one bird out of its misery as I was home alone. We also had a very "posh" cat with long fur who'd love to bring home rabbits bigger than herself and was never dirty XD
Oh yeah he brought us a few animals when he was younger. Mostly small mice though.
Not as much as the cat my parrents and me had when I was younger.
We never scolded our cats for this. Its natural behavior. We can be sad about the bird.
It was never nice and we where far from encouraging it but scolding feels wrong as well.
Yup back when I was a naive, uninformed and irresponsible cat owner. My cat would go out daily and would bring something back daily. He’d bring, mice, voles, snakes, grasshoppers and a bird.
I was just saying all my life I've never had a cat do that, but then just last week I'm pretty sure the cat I've been taking care of brought me a squirrel liver lol, I know it was something from the squirrel because he was eating it earlier that morning 😐
Birds, mice, rabbits (baby and adult), squirrels, moles, muskrats, that cat was a 20 pound stone cold killer. RIP Bandit.
Our cats are indoor cats so they don't kill anything, but our dog, that just passed, used to bring us all kinds of things like birds and possums.
She was about 45-50 lbs dog. I think she was raised around cats before we got her cause she would prowl through grass like a cat stalking prey and then pounce on my other 90 lb dog
Where is the option that says pussy brings orgasms?
I don’t own a cat per se.
He never goes out so he brings his mini mouse toy as a gift every night.
My 3 cats are strictly indoor cats. They never go outside. They do catch flies that come in the house though
Yes plenty of times.
how do you feel when it brings you one?
It's a bit annoying because I have pick it up and dispose of it.
