I think that playing cards is the most apt comparison. In chess, both players are equal. They have the same number of pieces, and each of the pieces behaves in the same way as the opponent. And the board on which they play is equally equal for both... it is absolutely not about life. In life, we are not all born with different opportunities. Someone has rich parents, and someone has no money for socks, someone has several cars at home, and someone does not even have money for a bus. Someone has a whole inheritance from the family, and someone has only a pile of debts. We are not equal in this life. In cards, cards come across randomly, sometimes very bad. And it is very difficult for you to win in such a case, if it is possible. In cards, as in real life, there are frauds and other unpleasant things. So white cards are more like life than chess.
By the way, it seems to me that this is the reason why chess became the game of aristocrats, and cards became the game of ordinary people.
Poker. Sometime your stack is up, sometimes it's down. But there's always another hand as long as you got a chip and a chair.
