I also like tapping my animals until they get annoyed I tap my cat on the top of her head repeatedly until it reacts, I tap the ferret on the back on her backbone until she reacts, my cat doesn't really react but the ferret jumps at me 😂

When I talk to them tho it's like they understand me lol

Let me be the one that is going to tell you that talking to the animals is not really something that they do understand. Take the same cat, place it in a home in the US, talk to it in English. Next, take the same cat, bring it to China and speak in Mandarin. Next, you take it to Kenya and talk to it in Swahili.

Do you honestly think that the cat will understand 3 different languages? I am always amazed by people that talk to their animals and expect them to answer back.

No, it is not really normal to talk to animals because they cannot understand the language you speak.

Pets will understand a few words beyond sit, stay and walked but generally it's the tone they're responding too and the interaction not the actual words.

Plus if you're not talking to your pet's what's the point of having them

Of course it’s very normal. I talk to all animals. I feel that they can understand what you’re saying in a certain way and they can understand your voice tones and and they actually do understand certain words like when you say sit then they sit they bond with you

Yeah I also recently read that the fact that dogs for example stare at you to show you affection is a learned trait and they supposedly learned that from humans. I think animals are way more clever than humans give them credit for.

Yea, I actually learned myself that animals all have different IQ or intelligence levels because my other cat (dead now) was actually more aware of its surroundings and would make decisions differently that the other, it would look you in the face meanwhile the other cat never really understood where the human eyes were, also with music the cat would like it and be attracted to it and stay around to listen, I think animals not having vocal cords doesn't make them dumb
