Can you relate to animals?

I seem to have some knack for it. For example, I managed to tame this feral cat outside to the shock of my neighbors and wife who took this picture. Before she wouldn't let anyone get within 10 meters or so, even with food, but I managed to coax her into sleeping on my lap without any food.

I also used to collect a bunch of animals when I was a boy: a pet bat (broke its wing), snakes, giant iguanas, giant spiders, etc.
That said, it's hit or miss sometimes. I've got two sets of tooth scars on the side of my face from being bitten by vicious dogs that I failed to charm as a boy and I've been hospitalized and required anti-venom multiple times. So it doesn't always work out.
One thing in my case is that I have difficulty registering danger. I think I might have damaged the part of my brain (amygdala) when I was a child which is supposed to control and regulate fear. I was hit by a car twice as a boy and hospitalized and suffered serious head trauma in both which might have messed something up in the noggin.
But that does help with taming wild animals since I think an absence of fear of them tends to help keep them calm. Still, it doesn't always work.
Interesting. Lucky you survived it. That's a great picture. She looks like she's out cold.
Cheers! She started to develop a habit of sleeping that funny way upside down. Unfortunately we found her one day meowing really loud and dragging herself only with her front legs while her back legs seemed disabled.
So I panicked and thought she was hit by a car and rushed her to the vet. The vet did x-rays and found she fractured her hip, mostly likely by falling from a high place (not hit by a car). I got her treated including surgery and then after that, my wife and I ended up keeping her in our house.
That's awesome!
I have had dogs my entire life until recently. I always got what we call "rescue dogs" here which means they were rescued from bad situations. There is no better feeling than taking an animal in distress and giving them their best life. 👍
💯🤝 I always thought of myself as more of of a dog person and generally didn't like cats so much. They seem so much more temperamental. I find I've grown really fond of this one though. Still like to say I'm a dog person but I make exceptions for some cats. 😁
I love all animals. The expression that always comes to mind is "The more people I meet, the more I like my dog." 😀
Keep up the good work! 👍
In so many ways.
https://www.youtube.com/embed/0XVTZ5D-jHkBelieve it or not this reminds me of the Beatles.. especially their newest AI assisted song.
Singer sound like Paul McCartney. Instrumentals have that Beatles type signature.
Still pretty amazing Beatles song and video considering two of the 4 singing and playing on it have been dead for decades. It's all from AI extracting their real voices and music from never before released unfinished tape recordings. Amazing. Thanks for the links.
What really gets me in the gut is those scenes where all 4 are playing together and they are different ages! It is so well done, it looks like they are really all together. Incredible.

yes... the three of my cats cuddle up with me at nights, when I'm not feeling my best... if they can sense it, it is because we can relate to each other
