Can animals be like your children?

I don’t have any kids yet, I’m 24 but my dog is honestly like my baby. She cries for me, she likes being cuddly and loving, and she’s super playful as a child would be, the only thing is she can’t talk. I definitely want children of my own someday I just unfortunately haven’t found the right guy sadly😞, but I do see her as my baby and me as her mother and it’s the greatest feeling ever because I rescued her and we’ve been inseparable ever since🥺💖

On October 15 2022, I had to Euthanize, my male companion feline, that I 'adopted' from my veterinarian''s wife, who operated a rescue center. We adopted him at 8 weeks old in June of 2004, and he was born in April of that year.

We fed 'Oliver" with a child's doll, baby bottle, for several weeks and we kept him for 18 years, and 6 months, treating him for Kidney failure, Pancreatitis, High blood pressure when it was discovered soon after he turned 18. I took him for 'hydration' every week, gave him medication every morning and night.

"When his abdomen began to fill with fluid, and he had a problem walking and getting on the couch, one week, I knew something terrible had happened and my wonderful vet confirmed it, and we found he had liver cancer.

I cried for more that a week off an on and have the ashes of 'my son' on the mantle along with his pictures from the time he was 6 weeks old up until his death. '

Yes, he was like my child.

I know people who elected not to have kids so they get a dog and it becomes their baby. I can understand it.

Yes. that's it. I ain't gonna fight you on a hill, i got better shit to do. But I had a little dog and he was my family and my joy. So when he dropped to the ground and went to heaven, ya damn right i cried. Lost my little bro.

I believe that it is absolutely possible to love an animal as much as a child especially for people who have no children to love.

Well they can be a lot like children. The way you havee to bathe them and wipe their nose and shit.

dogs are so soothing and very loyal, so quick to cheer you up even after a day from hell,. if your sick it's almost like they know and stay by your side. in my opinion i really feel like they are part of the family 🐕🐶
