How late is too late to text message a senior citizen at night? And how early is too early to text a senior citizen in the morning?

I sent a text message to a friend of mine who is my age along with a few pictures. I texted her at 9:15 pm and now she's mad at me for texting her so late.
Is 9:15 really late?

I use the 8 to 8 general rule for texting people. No texting after 8pm or before 8am, unless I know they are awake.

Back in the day we used the 10 10 rule. When did it change to 8:00?
Especially on Saturday and Sunday mornings. I didn't want anyone calling me before 10 am

@sage2021 Using a 10-10 rule is fine, though 10pm is a little late for many of the people I know. My wife, for example, is usually in bed by 9 or 930.

As long as you don't expect an immediate response, I don't think there is any time limits for sending text messages.

I'd also add that if you don't want to be disturbed by the noise, almost every smart phone has a "quiet" mode that blocks alert sounds during the night.

it depends on their habits... if someone sleeps between 8 pm and 4 am - 9 pm seems late...

Apparently, she never shuts her phone off!! Not a good idea!! The camera and mic work even when you're not using them! Who knows who's watching & listening on the other end?

Ask her. Everyone's schedule is different. Some seniors don't wake up until 10am and stay up until midnight; some go to bed at 7pm and wake up at 5am.
