My car is my baby, I get her routine maintenance. My boyfriend restores classic cars, so he'll do some of it (grease, oil, fluids) but for more involved things, he knows people that do it for a reasonable price.

What sort of car? A newish car or old classic? I for one would feel similarly about any cars I owned, usually, unless the car was only on its last legs aka - being phased out from aging/worn/costly.

I care about it but it doesn’t usually happen. I’m always either too busy or it’s too expensive.

I do all the maintenance and repair I can handle, but now that I'm pushing 60 I'm wondering how much longer before I pay others to do it.

Would you take it to a brand shop or a licensed back yard mechanic? Lol 😆 🧰 if i may ask.

I would go to an independent shop for things like exhaust system, oil change, tires, or suspension work. I would go to a factory authorized dealership (Chevrolet) for electronic problems.
