Why some people think that thumb up 👍🏽 emoji is offensive/rude?

Depends on what is being said in the text. If in the text someone for example says," are you able to meet me at the back door in five minutes to carry boxes" and the person sends the 👍🏾👍🏽. That means gotcha. So that's not rude.
Now if a person says , " guess what I just graduated from college!" And the person does a 👍🏽. It's rude. It's a closed conversation no engagement. Somethings require a complete sentence
Because sometimes it's used sarcastically as a way of saying "ok cool, I'm glad you think so but I'm not listening anymore"
Do this
Because it can be used as in a sarcastic and dismissive way in many circumstances. The thumbs up is a simple no effort way for someone to say cool I donβt care what you have to say and Iβm not going to waste time thinking of a response for you.
Of course itβs not always used this way, and there are times when the thumbs up is used as a genuine gesture of goodwill.
While a thumbs up is generally considered a positive gesture signifying approval, it can be interpreted as offensive in certain cultures, particularly in parts of the Middle East and South Asia where it can be seen as equivalent to giving the middle finger.

Like words, personal experience can outgrow any objective meaning, I recall someone who experienced classic smile and classic wink as sarcastic/patronizing emojis.
Itβs a cultural thing. There are some cultures out there who, for reasons currently unknown to me, believe that giving a thumbs up is rude in general.
I will typically use that sparingly, and only then with family or close friends.
I'm not a big fan of emoticons, and this comes after I was DESIGNING icons in the early 1970's for industrial and commercial applications.
If you don't belong to a country where culturally the thumbs up actually means something rude or offensive then your retarded for getting offended or upset over a thumbs up.
👍 = 🖕 As for a thumbs up depending on where you live in the world a thumbs up is equivalent to the middle finger. 👍 =🖕
There were people on this site this time last year calling anyone who would say musk was a republican along with his newly purchased site a liar. There will always be someone who will always take offense to everything...
Possibly the same reason people thought Alice Cooper's thumb on the "Love It To Death" album cover was hid dick!! RIIIIIGHT!! A Christian man showing his dick on an album cover!!
Iβm not positive, but I seem to remember that in some countries, a thumbs up means what the middle finger means in the West?
culture and that is probably rooted in some peoples horrif deaths.
if they find it rude, just switch to middle finger... which they'd tolerate better.
Peace!
Thumbs up = positive. Nothing rude about it.
Because typically people use it as a means to end a disagreement when theyβre choosing to no longer communicate and end the conversation
Because to those - the emoji means: '' stick it up your arse'' ? :)
Hypersensitivity in the fuckwit generation.
👍
It is hard to offend me, but some people actually look for things by which to get get triggered. They can be safely ignored.
Some people see it as a sign of approval or agreement, and then some people interpret it as sarcastically saying "okay, dumbass"
If you send it by itself it means you consider the person not worthy of a full message or word.
It's not rude. It means "good job" or "I agree".
Because most people think your being sarcastic when you send it
I don't know I use it 😂
