I do, whenever there's a forest fire that leaves the air smelling like burning wood, I love that shit.

We have a woodburner stove which at times gives off the most pleasant smell.
However our wonderful British Government brought in new laws (smoke free areas) which now forbid us to burn anything other than kiln-dried logs, dried logs, or smokeless fuels!
Fortunately at the present time our area is not one being governed by these pathetic, ridiculous laws... But sadly it won't be long before we are.

Yes. When I first moved up north, when the weather started getting colder at night and I would go outside, I could smell the smoke from fire places and people's wood heaters. I'm not a fan of camp fires though, it takes forever to get rid of the smell! It gets in my clothes and hair and takes a few washes to get rid of.

yes, in a fire place it just smells nice.
I had a pellet stove in my other house, and while you did not get the wood smell, it was still nice.
