Don't search it up, that sucks the fun out of my question, the person was probably broke and flavored water with what they had and boom, soup, or maybe they just didn't know how to cook and tossed a chicken in some water and accidentally made soup and when they tried it they liked it and were like mmm, this chicken water is actually pretty good, just add some salt 🙂

I mean, every cultures has soup so I don’t think it was about the money.
If anything, most places known for soups are also places with colder climates suggesting the folks there wanted to pack as much nutrients as possible in drinkable/extra hot form 🤭

The fact that all cultures worldwide have soups suggests to me the origin lies in prehistoric times long before money was invented. But I agree soups are something people turn to when broke. Take Jesus feeding a thousand with a couple of loaves and fish. Chop up the fish, boil in water with a few herbs and toss in bread crumbs to thicken, and you've stretched a meal for a few to a meal for a thousand.

It could be either that he was a genius. That being said who created homemade beef Stew I love it, it gives me so much energy and really taste good with a lot of protein and vegetables 🥕 you can also put dumplings in it pretty good

Yes, most likely. Using flavored water as food seems like something a person would do because of wanting to save money on food or not being able to afford much.
