I'll take an older car with character as long as it has safety features and is comfortable.
Plus, I like a car that can be repaired by a mechanic and not a computer tech.

I don't like modern cars because they are full of computers that fail. And your every move can be tracked. They can even be remotely hacked and shut off or taken control of.

It would be completely according to how old and what condition the older car is in.

It would have to be in very good shape. I'm not terribly fond of ALL the bells and whistles in brand new cars. The only great thing about new cars is the bluetooth that allows you to have hands-free phone calls.

That giant screen is something that will wear out with excessive touching, whereas mechanical dials last many years. You have to take your attention away from the road to READ screens, whereas to turn a dial or push a button takes a glance and seconds.

So new, new is not so appealing, as a little older with fewer distractions. But not so old that it's all maintenance and wearing out.

As much as I like older cars (especially Reliant Robins) I do prefer something as near to 100% reliable as possible... That's why I have a new car every three years... Just before the warranty expires and it needs to have a MOT (UK safety compliant certificate).

“Old car with character” or “a new car”.

There are old cars without character and new cars that have character, it really doesn’t matter. I plan to never drive with all the big SUVs and aggressive drivers on the road that will get pissed off at anything so easily, American life is going downhill being focused primarily on driving these big steel death traps & aggressive son of bitches who lose their cool.

Old cars are more prone to breakdown, new SUVs are more prone to causing road rage / too close parking spaces. SUVs f*ck up the whole system and old cars f*ck up the individual. Sorry not sorry on my assessment.

I would take an old car with character. Cause not every old car has character. At least old enough to have buttons and knobs over a touch screen.

I love a classic muscle car, but I also love a comfortable sedan I can do errands in when I just need to get groceries.

I'm somewhere in the middle. Because I like old muscle cars but prefer the comforts of newer models. So like for example my last car was a 2010 Charger. Hardly new, but by no means a classic. Maybe just a throwback to classic designs. And I wanted to get a Challenger. But I couldn't justify paying more and getting less (a 2 door instead of 4 and less trunk space).

I live a low mileage lifestyle. I have a gas guzzling C4 Corvette and a Lexus NX 300 Hybrid. So I have one of both. The C4 has been occasional during the Biden inflation. Hoping Trump will facilitate low gas prices and Make Driving Fun Again.

How old? For a daily driver I would much rather have a newer car as the electronics are so much better. The cameras are amazing, they park themselves and can mostly drive themselves if you like.
