4.7K opinions shared on Other topic. Yes, occasionally. Winters are fairly mild in California (at least if you aren't in the mountains), but we get freeze warnings sometimes because California is a huge food producing state and many people and farms have to take steps to protect their crops if it freezes later in the winter or early spring. So the news will report any expected freeze warnings. We probably get 3-5 a year.

1 yNot too often. We just know it’s pretty much a constant freeze warning from December to March here. If it hits 40 I’m ready to wear shorts and start barbecuing, lmao

Reminds me of when I went to Venice Beach like 12 years ago. Made friends with some of the conman rappers selling whack CDs on the boardwalk, I copped some weed from them and smoked a couple blunts with them. Then I said I was going to go swimming and they’re like “WHAT? It’s October!”
Water was still warmer there at that time than it is here in July and August lmfao. “Warm” starts around 45-50 here😂 - 1 y
Yeah that’s crazy lmao
At least sixty (15 Celsius) for me to don shorts !!!
7.3K opinions shared on Other topic. It has been 95F or higher for the past 10 days, and the next 10 days are expected to be even hotter, but even in the middle of winter it is never freezing.

Freeze warnings, frost heaves, and potholes are just a part of daily life. Along with shoveling snow and raking snow off the roof.
10 Reply No. It normally stays above freezing point at night during the winter. I have to travel into the mountains to find snow and freezing temperatures.
