Anyone else ready for it to be spring?

I HATE winter. I tolerate it until Christmas. If there’s snow, ok, at least it makes sense - it’s not just freezing just to freeze. and can be kind of beautiful at times. Anything below fifty, and I’m a grump. But I get really tired of it by early January. I’m probably stuck here for a while (got hurt), driving more than two hours at a time is really difficult for me, so moving right now isn’t likely. So goody, I have three or four more months of this sh*t. Then maybe decent weather for three or four months, then it’s back to “ok weather, but really dreading the upcoming winter” for a month or so, then winter hits like a freight train for five - (six months where I scream every time I sit in the car).
If I was earning enough for a remote starter and some seat warmers and a decent car, it’d be a tiny bit more tolerable, but not by much. This year, a bunch of stuff is breaking on my car, so I don’t have heat a lot of the time. My car is about 15 years old, and I’m holding some of it together with duct tape.
I think I have seasonal affective disorder. I have severe depression anyway, but it gets way worse in winter. I hate living where it’s anywhere from - 5 to 35 (Oh, joy, feels like 10 with the wind, though!).
At least I work from home, usually, so I don’t always have to leave at 6am to put up with ice, car accidents, car problems, etc. I can kind of tuck in a little, if need be… with a bunch of sweaters, a coat, and blanket… sometimes the house gets down to fifty (and if there’s no electricity, it can get below 30).
Roses are red,
Violets are blue,
I can barely wait
For a temperature of 22...(Celsius;72 Fahrenheit).
Last Feb.27, Windsor's temperature WAS 22 degrees Celsius (72 degrees Fahrenheit), our warmest-ever February day, LadyBecks !!!
In the UK the birds are in full voice and sunset has just past the 5pm mark meaning the drive home from work isn't in the dark anymore. February can be the coldest month but at least we can see the light at the end of the tunnel.
No problem here in sunny California. The fires heated up the air so it is nice and toasty here.

I’m always ready for spring as soon as winter begins. I hate the cold
I heard the season's first spring commercial as snow was fluttering to the ground.
yes, February is a short month, March we are back into daylight saving time and then it is spring.
Winter isn’t bad in Phoenix, Arizona. We’ll be in the 70s, nothing bad. Flip flops w shorts, hoodies. Unless you love extreme heat, Phoenix is one of the worst places you can be for summer. Triple digits most of the summer, up to 118. Not good. At least we don’t have the ministry like Texas or the Carolinas in addition to the heat.
I moved to Tucson when I was 18 from the Northeast. Loved the heat for the first few years but then got really sick of it. Was there for about 12 or 13 years all together on and off. Way too hot! Back in the Northeast now and it's freezing cold but I still like it better than too much heat. I like the changing seasons too and missed those when I lived in Arizona.
Yes the humidity was low, but when it's 120° in the shade that really doesn't help. I live by the ocean now as I did when I was growing up and it's extremely humid. But can't remember the last time it was over 100 in the summer.
@RingOfFire there’s some perks to both. But yes I’d rather be cold than hot. Hopefully the weather doesn’t get too hot too soon. I was on the east coast back in December, weather was great.
When I was 18 and moved to Tucson, shortly after I got there I met a girl there who I later almost married. We were together for about 7 years. I haven't seen or talked to her for about 45 years, but about a month ago found out that she passed away at age 67. She lived in Scottsdale all these years after leaving Tucson and getting married. Couldn't believe how it still hurt after all these years. Time flies!
@RingOfFire sure does. I remember being stationed in South Korea. Met a girl but was too late. By the time I asked her out there was less than a week before we came back to the states. To think how things would have been if we had gone a different direction.
Korean girls are really beautiful. You're right. You can't help think about how things might have been different if you ended up with the one that got away.
My Dad was in China with the Sixth Marine Division in WWII (although he was a Navy officer). I once saw pictures of him with a Chinese girl there (this was before he met my mother of course). I asked him about her but he never wanted to talk about it. Always wondered if that was his one that got away.
@RingOfFire Nice. I was in the Marine Corps too. But yes Korean women are gorgeous. We at least got to go on one date, but that was that. Being older now I wish I was a lot more sober to remember a lot of the things I did.
🤣🤣🤣 Yes, well at least that proves you were in fact in the Marine Corps!
Semper Fi! 👍
@RingOfFire certainly does. Midnight mass drink as hell trying to pick up women from all over the world.
@ladybecks
I can’t wait for bikini 👙 season
Me too Jenn, hehe.
@Wise4myage okay John 💃
If in Australia I despised winter , that's why I came to an all summer environment suits my personality , just hate winter ! Its a red hot summer in Australia right now , but I am as always in Thailand.
I feel like its been winter for the past 4 years now and Im beyond ready for spring
Spring is my favorite season. Let's see what Punxsutawney Phil has to say in a few days.
I don’t mind cold weather because I work online and I like how quiet and isolated the world is when the weather is cold, it means less crime and less fighting between people.
I am ready for this heatwave to be over, and that is saying something coming from me. I love summer, but this heat is nuts.
I'm still waiting for the winter to truly hit around here... lol
@ladybecks i'm waiting for spring in summer.
I agree!😍
Since I'm not a fan of freezing temperatures, I don't mind it that winter will come to an end.
It needs to get to be a proper winter here first for about a month then roll on spring
Rain and damp is like Scotland not Scandinavia.
I miss New York. The weather get warmer after Jan. But now I am in Toronto and cold spring is brutal. I have no place to go and leaves are not out til April.
Yesss it's not too cold here during winter but still much prefer warm weather
Let me get a few more weeks skiing in, and I’ll be ready.
O yay spring which for us is also known as harvest time our busiest time of the year /=.
Yeah I’m tired of it already and my hands cracking no matter what I put on them, a few more months before it gets nice and warm again
Definitely. I like winter, but only up to New Years Eve. Although I do like that we get like five weeks off at my college.
Hell yes. We don’t get to experience Spring till the beginning of May!🤣
Yes, but we are only one month into winter, two more to go.
Best thing about Winter is that my girlfriend was born during it.
It is in the 80’s here today. Last week a foot of snow on the ground and sun tan lotion on today….
yes and summer I love the hot weather though their a perverted side of me.
Yes I’m ready for spring and summer, where I live we usually get only a couple weeks of spring then hot hot hot lol
I hope the groundhog says 6 more weeks of winter for you northerners 😛
🤣🤣🤣🤣 that poem is funny!
Yes always a great time of the year.
I live in SoCal. We are desperate for more rain.
