People obsessed with celebrities are less intelligent, thoughts?

According to studies done by BMC Psychology they have asserted that there's a direct association between celebrities worship and poorer performance on cognitive tests, measuring both literacy and numeracy, they also gave them a celebrities questionnaire, they were yes or no questions, they did confirm one of the questions they put was if their favorite celebrity ask them to do something illegal for them, if they would do it, I can only wonder how many put yes lol

I mean, I kinda agree. The only celebrities I care about is a boyband I listen to called "Stray Kids." Otherwise, I could care less about who's with whom and who cheated on who. (Basically the celebrity world if you ask me.) I mean, I want to be a famous singer, but not to be in that crowd- I just want to sing in front of a lot of people and do my own thing.

As for people who would do illegal things for their favorite celebrities, the fact that probably a lot of people put yes would not surprise me at all. I see it in my own fandom where people just go feral over their favorite celebrities. Stray Kids makes me blush and get giggly but I'm not gonna go do something illegal just to make them happy.

Now I'll be honest, I can tell you a LOT about Stray Kids. I'm like a walking encyclopedia when it comes to them, but I also use them as role models. They seem to be genuinely nice and fun-loving guys from what I've seen and what people say about them. I respect that and I use that as a model to become more like. Am I obsessed with them? Maybe a bit, but would I give up my life for them? No. Not at all.

I can understand how people obsessed with celebrities are less intelligent. (Y'all can't come at me because I am an A-honors student who has already been told that I'll be valedictorian of my class. Go class of 28!) People spend all of their time researching celebrities and get called up on so much news when they COULD be studying reading. I know this myself. I used to be WAY too caught up with Stray Kids and focused less on my studies. I slumped in my classes for almost a full nine weeks, but snapped out of it.

So, less intelligence for people obsessed with celebrities is very real and don't doubt for a second any of the studies' conclusions.

You are still young and growing, you are actually mature for your age but you are still at the age where it's normal to think of celebrities and role model celebrities, I don't think that makes you less intelligent even if you did still have obsessions, I don't have any growing up but it's pretty normal I think, this is actually studies for full grown adults, I actually believe when you become an adult you'll actually probably lose that part where you'd role model celebs and you'll start forming your own life, there's grown ass adults that waste money on every concert or sometimes even get scammed by their favorite celebs.

Yes, celebrities serve to control masses, mass control is directed towards the dumbest people, I like movies and music but I have never admired any celebrity.
