We do not light candles in our house anymore cause both my mom and I have spontaneously fallen to the floor before or gotten hit in falls and a fire could cause physical injury during a fall. Also I no longer view the candle as a meditative tool with all the other religious ideas I've been exposed to over the years, and it doesn't boost my mood or flavour my life the way it once did.
