Who is planting a garden this spring? What are you growing?

I did not plant a garden last summer because the bunnies eat all my vegetables. Maybe I will put up a fence and then try it again.

I will be planting a garden, but it's pretty small and simple. I will expand it slightly this year. Not enough to plant more crops, but to just give them a little more breathing room.

I also have been shifting toward containers which seem to do pretty well with some crops. I was just out there and noticed that something has been trashing my containers. Some of them are half empty with the dirt scatted everywhere. It's probably squirrels.

Last year I put up chicken wire around the in-ground garden, but the containers are still fair game for the critters. The critters will eventually get under the chicken wire, but it keeps them out long enough to get the plants established.

I'll be growing tomatoes as usual. They are easy to grow and produce a lot. I'll cut back from last year though. I always grow 2-3 kinds of peppers. I'll grow some salad crops like lettuce, carrots and radishes. Also, garlic and onion.

I had good luck with dill last years after several failed attempts in previous years. I'll try them again.

I have wanted to grow horseradish for several years, but haven't done it because the soil is not suitable. I might try it anyway in my clay.

I have wanted to plant strawberries even longer. But haven't for the same reason. I'd like to try some other berries also, even though I know the birds will eat every last one of them. Netting doesn't seem to do much good.

My wife grows some Chinese vegetables in pots. I don't have enough time to devote to a garden, but I look forward to doing that when I am retired.

Yesss! Were gonna grow watermelon, squash, tomatoes, peppers. I already have a indoor herb garden and some carolina reapers started because they're so slow to grow. Also got my berry bushes from last year so hopefully they come back to life in the spring.

Definitely and you could probably look up ways to keep animals away

@Apple1996 I never realized how much my cats did around here. After they died the critter population grew to outrageous proportions.

I didn't plant anything either but I had tons of tomatoes that grew from rotten tomatoes that we just left in the raised bed. I don't know what I'm doing this year. Time will tell

wow, that is cool. i had that with watermelons. My kids used to spit the seeds off the end of my deck which is where my garden is. Somehow they grew and we had little watermelons.

My wife already has trays in the kitchen under grow lights. She planted seeds and some are starting to pop out shoots. There is a wide variety. We'll plant them in the gardens when it is time.

I plant Sunflowers and Zinnias outside, and my garden has Eggplant, Corn, Tomato, and Pepper. Try hot pepper spray on your veggies leaves to deter rabbits from eating it. It’s harmless to plants and animals it just tastes bad. Garden centers sell it.

It’s cheaper for me to buy produce than to water my garden. Our water is outrageously expensive. We even had to let our lawn die. 🙁

I've grown beans and figs

My father had a fig tree. We used to have to bury it for the winter. He had a piece of linoleum he used to put over it and cover it with dirt. I do not remember getting any figs from it.

Well what I did is get some liquid vitamins from the bayer laboratory... You just give it a few drops on the roots and it makes the tree give you plenty of fruit
