I normally work in tech as a software developer. The job market in my industry has been destroyed. I have been unemployed since mid-July, and I have been unable to get my foot back into tech since.

Right now, I am collecting disability benefits. In the meantime, I applied for some part time security officer roles. It seems like no one is eager to hire right now.

The tech business has been flooded in recent times because so many people have gone to college for it in the last few years. So there are more people needing a job in that area than there are people who need those workers. Because of this, employers are able to pick out the best candidates and don't need those who are not showing that they are exceptional.

I have trouble getting and keeping jobs. I am trying to gravitate towards roles I am more familiar with and confident I can maintain to a certain degree. Just FYI, a janitorial company wouldn't even hire me. I have no filter and I am very transparent, which many places cannot deal with.

Something about authoritative or authoritative-like roles I enjoy. Look at my past roles anyways... lifeguard (rule enforcement), security (enforcement), EMT (uniformed and important, authoritative-like),

are you still on financial assistance from the Govt? or not anymore? still unemployed?
