Does anybody have any inside info on auto insurance claims?

My truck was hit by an uninsured driver while parked yesterday morning.

You ideally took photos of his license plate and VIN numbers and driver's license. You should do that automatically when involved in a collision.
1. Report it to the police.
2. Report it to your insurance company. They will pay for your damages less your deductible. The loss won't count against you or cause an increase in your rates.
3. Contact the person who hit you, if possible, and tell them to pay your deductible. You could always sue them in small claims court for the deductible, but that's a hassle and might not be worth it.

You can still sue the other driver and he will have to pay our of his own pocket. If he won't pay, you can take his bank accounts, his cars, his other assets, or put a lien on his house to get your money.

If you file a claim on your insurance (if you have uninsured motorist), they won't go after him and your insurance premium will go up a lot because you filed a claim.

Get their license plates number and take their ass to court. That behavior is unacceptable and they have no business driving a car without a insurance. So disrespectful.
