Is the book from the villain’s perspective? Don’t give her a blank crown while simultaneously holding another with photoshopped blood and more details than the original.


The contrast between the gold and shadow is WAY too high, I get that you want it to be shiny but this is borderline blinding. Not to mention the shadow is so poorly blended on the left arm that you can literally see the block. What are you trying to focus on here? Do you want the eye to be drawn to the woman, the crown, the veins, the eyes, or the lettering? All of this is far too busy and it’s frankly very ugly. I’m sure this is all just concept and none of it is the final draft but you need to have it MASSIVELY simplified before you think about putting it on any book.


The point of a cover is to draw people in, yes, but from here it looks like you’re trying to visually tell the entire story before someone reads it. It looks like a story about some vampire queen wannabe enjoying her victory over another vampire queen because she has special purple blood or something. This isn’t marketable. Either focus on the crown or the woman, NOT both.

I did State that none of this is the actual cover just pieces to show the artist to get my point across so of course it's going to look janky and not shaded correctly. Nothing is going to be as shiny and out of focus.

It's not told from a " villains perspective" but I wouldn't call her a hero either.

There are no vampires Even mentioned in the story nore is there a evil queen.

Well what do you think would be a appropriate cover for this. Obviously I'm leaving out a lot of detail but the basics of it are.

It's mainly about a elven princess whose throne was
taken by a usurper with a
outrageous
amount of power. She was
forced to flee to a
neighboring kingdoms trying to
save her land. but while in the other kingdom she begins relising
her kingdom wasn't the perfect
place she thought it was. Wasn't kind and just that a lot was hidden from their history books.
The tyrant who has taken the
throne has began to corrupt not
only her kingdom but
neighboring kingdoms
aswell. turning the people into
"Demon's "( not really demon's just using it because it's a word that will make sense right now) who scour the lands to hunt
her down. Laying waste
to every village they
come across Those who
haven't turned are
held captive in camps prisons or scrounging from scraps on the borders.
. Entire cities have been
left nothing but ash
It contains
war, love, magic,
"demon's" , survivers guilt,
imposter syndrome, self harm , abuse, racism , rape, kidnapping , murder PTSD, incarceration.
Public executions. Stolen identity, self sacrifice, suicide so on so forth.

She learns not even she is what she thought she was.

Because it's not the ending it is a scene but it's not the ending. This is only book one aswell it doesn't end in this book

I did what you said. I gave no information about what kind of cover I wanted just what the book was about.

The concept they gave me was a golden crown against a dark background, with a hint of purple magic surrounding it. The edges will feature a golden frame intertwined with tropical leaves and purple flowers, though the flowers will be minimal.
The title will also be in gold, using a decorative serif font.
The primary colors would be black, purple, and gold
