The saying.. "All men are the same "or "All women are the same" how accurate is it?

My brother and I are on a different path and there are a lot of things we don't agree on.
Some days ago we were discussing the same matter and he was insisting or rather he was saying that he can't even trust women because of the above statement but of course that can't be true. I believe the above statement is applied base on the individuals. Which is not everyone is mad.

What's your thoughts?

I believe that this is highly inaccurate.

I do believe there are "types" within both men and women. They are useful (to me) to make sense of people, and generally it is quite accurate. (e. g. This type of guy would definitely say that to a girl in this specific context.)

Even within "types" there are outliers, the "type" might do a good job of describing some parts of the person's behavior and thinking... but not completely. They are not at all perfect types that fit perfectly. They are useful though.

In short, no. "all men" and "all women" are both categories with too much variation WITHIN them to be useful.

"all women are...(anything)" is a highly inaccurate way to think about it. There are certainly some broad generalizations you can make (e. g. Women are more comfortable displaying emotional vulnerability than men. True, but certainly not nearly universal)

Saying dumb things like that which are obviously not true in a discussion / argument really discredits anything else that person has to say about relationship issues. I think it pretty much comes from not having enough experience with the opposite gender and being too scared / lazy to bother gaining any. Such people tend to believe anything that goes wrong in their lives is someone else's fault and they become "masters" at blaming others. Quotations because they simply try to make things seem more grandiose than they are by blaming as many people as possible.

It's important to know that he himself is not talking base on one or two experiences but a lot of experiences and also he has heard many side stories.

But that alone doesn't certify all as the same. Although it's 100% accurate but that doesn't mean he's not making some point.

He's talking about -his- bad experiences and stories he's heard, probably in an echo chamber. That, to me, is inexperience. Then applying that to an umbrella statement about an entire gender makes it seem more grandiose than it is to garner sympathy. It's the typical response of someone who is fed up and doesn't want to try anymore, which screams fear or laziness to me. The point is lost in translation in such cases. The delivery of the message is often more important than the message itself when it comes to human emotions.

Yes! Not accurate but I think he is judgement is base on his experiences and side stories.
