Is the city life fun and exciting to people?

So yesterday I was in Chicago eating gordon ramsay burger restaurant and honestly the people watching from inside is interesting but I see so many young people living in the city and of course looks like there just having a blast living there. Sure you get the best of jobs and fun things to do. But im from the small town that still large but nothing compared to Chicago.

This is cute. You can for sure find something going on all the time in the city (in terms of nightlife, shows, events, etc). But... realistically no, life is not as exciting in the big city as you're supposing. T

hey are options available... but most people aren't living exciting lives doing all sorts of cool things downtown all the time. It's just people living their lives.

For sure, a city is fun during the drinking/partying stage of life (If that's something that applies to you).

People certainly do, say, go to more musicals (if that's their thing) living in the city. So if you're a big museum person for example... it's nice that the museum is close, and you may visit it regularly. But "regularly" isn't going to be all that often at the end of the day.

Most people's lives in the city is just as hum-drum as in a small town for the most part. You do have way more anonymity though in a city. Nobody knows or cares about your business.

(I'm guessing. I've never lived in a small town) 🙂

I lived a farm for 10 years of my life then NYC till covid… now hubby and I are 1 hr from the cith… we have the best of both worlds.
the city - I still have friends and family. I also love the new things, different foods. Always something to do…

one must have a lot a lot of money to feel the joy…

if you are young and have lots of friends in the big city… can live there for 2-3 years. with a good paying job.
once you have kids, raise them in the suburbs.
I just had this conversation with my 15 yr old son 😂 …

I visit Chicago… it’s kinda like NYC… but all the buildings are rearranged 😂

Personally prefer country side/ remote village. Though, were I live everything is fairly nearby, so the next "big city" is a 20 min drive lmfao.
