u 1 yMy family has been in this area continuously since 1790. We aren't leaving!

1 yYes. I like where I'm at, frankly, it's a beautiful place and I constantly thank my lucky stars.
It isn't perfect... I could list flaws, but I'm fortunate to have wife and kiddo in house to keep life fun and things to do.
It's expensive is one flaw... and it's changing. It's very international here, youd find most every culture and language and we all get along. Good food, peace and quiet, everything nearby but not too busy, and relatively safe. what more to ask?
oh yea... it's cold for 5 months!

1 yNo, I get moved too much. I just moved to the East Coast less than two years ago, and now I have to go back to the West Coast after this winter. This time, instead of being next to the Canadian border, I'll be next to the Mexican one.

My trip not long ago The worst part is I keep getting moved into Liberal shit holes where they're probably still counting votes.

1 yI live on an island in a really nice community with almost no crime, friendly people everywhere beautiful homes and beautiful beaches. It's a place anybody would love to live.
But am I satisfied with it? Not anymore. I've lived here on and off most of my life, but now it's become a lonely place because almost all of my family either left here years ago and moved away (like I did a few times too but I eventually came back) or passed away. There's almost no one left on the island where my family has lived for five generations.
It's just become too damn lonely here with all the memories. So I'd like to move but it's not easy when you've lived here for so many years.

1 yYes I like, not perfect.
I am easily satisfied⦠I have lived in ādangerousā neighborhoods⦠so my kids can see what the real world is like⦠no fear.
I am fine wherever I am. I am not picky.
I prefer not too cold⦠mostly 2 weeks of deep freeze cold every winter I can deal with⦠because I go south other times 😂20 Reply It's a mixture of being satisfied and dissatisfied; one day I'd love to live in the countryside in a cottage.

England 🍄 30 ReplySmells too much like weed recently.. small crimes increased in the last years, and the health system suuuuucks... Canada used to be a better place 🥲
But at least our economy is relatively strong in comparison to most countries in the world, though cost of living has increased, people still can afford everything they need
31 Reply- 1 y
That's so funny you mentioned that, because my dad just told me that he read that West Virginia has more wealth per capita than Canada.
4.6K opinions shared on Other topic. No, it's small, shitty, people are dumb as fuck, bigot, drugs dealer, complete morons, some are nice people but most are just trash or children and old people no people my age it's boring as hell and I can't go anywhere because there's no bus.
The only things there's there is a bar for drunkard... I can't even buy bread since there's no shop.
33 Reply- 1 y
That sounds very bad. I feel so sorry for you. I wish you could get out of there. I thought you said it has young people, but they're crazy. And I thought you said tourists still visit there XD Not even a shop! That is crazy! Do you guys just go to the neighboring town? Not having bus must suck, if you don't drive. But if it's that bad, I'm not surprised it doesn't go there.
I'm still curious what it is. - 1 y
@KostasKouvalis I mean I don't completely hate it I grew up here so I don't want to leave like I want to leave and in another way I don't want to because I'm so used to it I live here since I 'm so small it would be weird to leave my home.
There's some young people but very fews and they're druggies and criminal. One literally stabbed people when we were in middle school.
Yes we get many tourist for some reasons
Yes not even a shop this is the most frustrating things
It's in the mountain so yea bus rather not go there I guess
We go to a not the neighboring town of the neighboring town? because the neighboring town is near yas small as mine so XD
And my area is actually know around to be bad and full of terrorist too, we had terrorist attack in school some years ago.
- 1 y
That's sort of how me and my mom feel about mine. Sometimes we want to leave, but we're also so used to it. My mom just said if I had a steady job and a girlfriend, she can stay here forever. Moving is difficult especially at her age and we've already moved so much.
I know, you've told me.
There was a stabbing at my middle school too, and in my high school someone brought a gun and took a class hostage. This was before school shootings were normal occurrence.
Weird that tourists would come to such a place. What's there that's of interest to tourists?
Plus it's dangerous too.
Damn
The school in your village? Holy shit!š² Stay safe. At least where I live we don't have terrorists. Scary shit!
Is that guy still in jail?
1.1K opinions shared on Other topic. Well there can always be something done in my city to make it better of course but I've lived in four different states and I mean I'd like them all but I like Reno the best because of the mountains the activities the people
But as time goes on and there's becomes more and more people more more congested and there can always be something to do things better for sure10 Reply- 780 opinions shared on Other topic.
1 yNah. We have a host of problems that all larger cities suffer from: infrastructure, high priced housing, homelessness, joblessness, poor education.
All one can do is fight for a better community. I do in my small way.12 Reply- 1 y
Or vote republican instead of democrat.

@strateguy632 No one party solves all issues. Cooperation is always the solution.
2.2K opinions shared on Other topic. I want to live here forever so that's probably a yeah. I mean I would move if I was rich of course, but realistically I'm going to stay here and be okay with that.

1 yAbsolutely ! I know the city I live in since so many years is something of a garbage bin in some of its aspects, but it's my city, with it's qualities and it's defaults. It's my place, and it offers me what I need.

Similarly they interviewed a couple in some city in siberia, don't you want to move? They said "here is our home".
Yes, a small city on the coast of Andalucía, Spain. Not too far from bigger cities, which are nice to visit but not to live in.
30 Reply13K opinions shared on Other topic. No, it totally sucks. Huge traffic problem, high taxes, lots of street crime, democrats run the place into the ground. People are leaving in droves, The weather sucks most of the year.

@midnightmoon05 According to the census 110,000 people left in 2023. It can be assumed that many of the m are retirees but a lot were people with jobs that just got fed up. Many moved to Florida and the Carolinas but some went to New Hampshire. Oddly enough, nobody went to Califrornia..
- 1 y
@strateguy632 a lot are moving away from the city, a lot still move in.
Looks like back to pre Covid.
Busy as usual. Manhattan seems less crowded than before.
X-7 what kind of street crimes? - 1 y
@midnightmoon05 just the usual, shootings and stabbings, stick ups and muggings, Nobody has been pushed in front of a train in a few weeks.
- 1 y
Thatās good. Stay safe.

1 yIt's at the edge of a village, actually.
I'm as unhappy here as I would be anywhere else.
So I just keep 'my place' closed to the public. It works well enough - somehow.

What's there to like about Cairo?
- 1 y
@KostasKouvalis in cairo food n clothing is significantly cheaper than Europe.
- 1 y
@strateguy632 They'll rip you off though, even in the regular retail stores. But even if they rip you off it's still cheaper. Like I saw one video where some scammers convinced a tourist to buy food for them and himself and they were working with the vendor and he overcharged him. The tourist was complaining about how he got scammed, and I didn't understand why he was so angry, because they got so much food, and even if he got scammed, he still paid less than he paid in California.
I do live in a nice town and NYC isnāt to far.
