Do you have memories from your distant past that you knew exactly what they were back then but now, you can't recall completely?

I went to the local amusement park when I was about 5 or 6 and shortly before the park closed, I wanted to ride The Whip. So, I got on and, over the P. A. on that ride, they started playing a song I REALLY loved a lot!! I knew exactly who and what it was at the time but, to this day, I can't tell what the song was, anymore. It wasn't a number 1 hit at the time but it was probably in the top 10. As far as I recall, it was Del Shannon and it was a close follow-up to "Runaway" and sounded a lot like it. I knew the song then and just kept that memory in my head for a while but soon, forgot the song. I've been trying to find it ever since and just come up blank every time and, apparently, it's NOT Del Shannon!! I've heard all of his records of that era and it's none of those.
There's been a number of other incidents of this sort over the decades and I HAVE to wonder if hypnosis could help me remember all those bits of info. Problem is, as far as I know, I can't be hypnotized! The mother of one of my guitarists was a registered hypnotist and she tried a time or two and I just wouldn't go under!
