I lost my dog back in `93 and decided to play this song about having lost a great friend. I'd heard it a number of times before that and it never meant much of anything to me. Just a song. I played the song and at the tail end, for the very first time, I realized that it actually WAS about a dog that had died and I broke down and cried like a baby!!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PYygXeJWuRw&pp=ygUYa2xhYXR1IC0gYWxsIGdvb2QgdGhpbmdzI'm so sorry to hear that. I lost my dog when she was 20 and my cat aged 17 both rescues. Best way to move on is to realize they're not set up to live as long as us. They have a shorter life span unfortunately. There is pet grief therapy which is what i attended and had nice memorabilia of my dog and cat such as ashes and foot prints. I have a pet fish which was a gift from a coworker. My intentions were to never have a pet again. Losing a pet hurts more than the loss of a human💔.❤️ stay strong itll take time to heal
My cat is 28 and still around
What!! I never knew cats could go that long. Are you going to get her a play mate? I'm sure she misses your dog. @neonstar2345
My cat is called popcorn
Cats can reach upto 50 years of age, but most dont make it past 11.
It’s so hard. For me, just allowing myself to go through a normal grief process and moving forward with the good memories is what helped.
@neonstar2345 I wish I knew. Oliver died (I had him Euthanized with Liver Cancer) and he was just short of 19. I know how much it hurts, and I am sorry you are in pain over the loss of your companion I would like to have another kitty boy, but, as you know it is a big responsibility to have and properly care for a companion animal. I got Oliver as a Rescue Baby at 8 weeks old, and few him with a baby bottle. I would wait a while and adopt another companion

Sorry for your loss, the only bad thing about loving this furrballs is they are not living as long as us.
İ wish my boy (9M) will live as long as yours hopefully, i don't know and don't wanna know a way to get over it, to be honest i hate the term getting over it, this is not a disease for f sake i lost a loved one, i loved the one i lost and now am i trying to get over? Get over what? My feelings for them? The pain i feel because i lost someone i loved? İ don't know you but for me, i feel like the least i can do for someone i loved is suffering for their demise, they are gone now i can't do anything for them anymore except feeling the pain of not having them with me anymore.
Firstly, my condolences. I'm sorry to hear about your loss.
I think the best way is to do two things which are kind of opposites.
1. Keep busy. If your mind has downtime, it'll probably think heavily about the loss. Beyond just keeping your mind busy (like watching shows/movies, playing video games, etc), be with other people kind of as much as you can or at least more than usual. Company can help lessen the pain, but also can help distract you.
2. Sometimes, like a limited time, don't try to lessen the pain, don't try to distract your mind. Let yourself feel your emotions and let yourself come to terms with things. Let all your feelings out. This process needs to occur, but it's a hard process and it has an emotional toll, which is why I suggest you try to limit doing this, but finding time to do it is very important.
That's him in the picture
An absolute sweetie pie, I'm sure.
He had a tumer in his stomach
I can relate. I had a cat who had a tumor that kept growing back, we had to put him down.
I say that not to shift focus onto me, but to show that you're not alone. Many people know how it feels and they can empathize. Hopefully there's consolation in that.
That is a proud age for a dog - and it means that you cared for him/her in an outstanding way.
Your sadness today will be replaced by fond memories later on. Your dog had a good and long life. That's what counts.
As an inevitable fact, we all (and our fellow pet friends, too) will have to go one day.
The question isn't so much ''when'' - but in which manner.
Heal well :)
What a good life, that's a long time for them. For me, the best way is to let your emotion out, go look at pictures, reminisce about all the good times you had and funny things he did. Forget the negative.
Looks like a great dog, my heart and prayers are with you!
I'm sorry for your loss, we lost our dog a couple of years back. The only advice I have is to let yourself grieve, don't hold back any tears. Recognize and feel every memory and thought you have, it's ok to have regrets and questions, just like it's ok to remember the good times.
Honestly time and letting yourself grieve. It sucks but it gets easier.
Rip little one

I'm very sorry for your loss. Remember the fun times.
My condolences for your loss that must be hard breaking. I would take some time to heal before I would find a new puppy again
There is no real quick way and you’re lucky you got 19 years because my average dog lives were always 13 or less, but the only thing that helps is just time or sometimes getting a puppy
Life things come and go just know that and then move on
Sorry hear for your loss 🫂 I think it takes time. That’s all I can say.
Don't forget him, RIP, I'm sorry for your loss.
Take some time to grieve them
Time.
Nothing else will work.
He is in heaven
Time unfortunately is the only way
You would have to buy another dog
Adopt a new dog lol
Get a new one
Give it life
Oh so sad
