I am glad to hear you stepped in and stopped a rape. All too often things could have been prevented, but no one had enough courage to step in and stop it from happening in the first place.

I'm really not a fan of creepy rapey behavior... if a chick is too drunk around me to make her own choices, I make sure every dude around knows I'll break their neck if they touch her.

On the flip side that chick is going to get bitched out for getting too drunk around dudes once she sobers up... I hate that kind of shit too. She should know better. That's like me getting drunk in the hood and expecting nobody to try and rob me at gunpoint.

I talked to many teenagers who were in really dark places... I still see some of them from time to time... it's good to see them smiling...

did I stop something? I don't know... but I want to believe that I helped them to see their lives from a different perspective and this helped them to avoid the biggest mistake of their lives...

I stopped an elderly woman with dementia from walking into the street and away from her home. She was out of it and very off balance. This happened yesterday.

There was a fascinating study of people that jumped from the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco and lived. (I cannot recommend doing that... living is not the most probable outcome.) But, anyway, the point is that only about 1/4 of them went on to suicide by other means. So if you can keep someone alive for one night, there is at least a fair chance they will never suicide.
