Do you like cars? What's your favourite?

I’m not particularly into them, performance-wise. I drive like a grandma, so the top speed on the speedometer or the 0-to-60 time is irrelevant to me. I can appreciate a good looking car for sure, but I kind of just know it when I see it.
I’m kind of particular about the aesthetics though. There’s a guy near me with a ‘69 Pontiac GTO Judge, and the license plate is “ALL RISE”, which is just SPECTACULAR😝 That’s a sweet car. Not for me, but I love the look of it. Classic muscle car.
I’m more of an SUV guy, and they have to be boxy, old school style. I don’t like these aerodynamic looking ones. GMC Yukons, Chevy Tahoes, Cadillac Escalades, Toyota 4-Runners or Sequoias, etc.
And my hopefully-soon purchase for myself, a Ford Bronco. I need to research the trim package differences, but I know I don’t care for the Bronco Sport. From what I can tell, I do like the Big Bend, Badlands, and Outer Banks styles…
Yes I like cars.
The ones in your picture is pretty good options.
Favourite, there are many good options, but,
GMA T.50 - spirital successor to McLaren F1,
Is such a cool car, 3 seater with driver in the middle (Like McLaren F1),
High revving naturally aspirated V12 made by Cosworth.
GMA T.50 seems amazing.
For something slightly more common,
Lamborghini Revuelto looks great.
Also naturally aspirated V12.
But has some more tech compared to GMA T.50
It's a hybrid and has noselift so you are more likely to get over some obstacles like speedbumps or lower curbs without scraping.
For something more common.
I think Chevrolet stepped up their game with Corvette C8.
But hot hatches are nice to and more attainable for people who aren't rich.
Like Civic Type R, Golf GTI / Golf R, Corolla GR and such.
My cousin owned a green SUV with her family when I was in high school and it's my favourite car that I've ever sat inside. I like the green colour cause there were a lot of trees in her neighbourhood so I felt like it matched the mood of the city.
Not obsessed with cars but I like cars. Some of my favorite are the Defender, good old Mercedes Benz G-Wagon, Jetour T2. I'm a big card kind of girl.
While I do appreciate the artistic design and craftsmanship that goes into creating cars, my primary interests lie within the arts, such as movies, drawing, and exhibitions. However, if I had to choose, I'd say I admire classic cars for their timeless beauty and elegance, especially vintage Aston Martins like the DB5, often seen in James Bond films. 🚗🎨

Like Caterina Murino in Casino Royale, both would be keepers.
We'd ride around Sardinia on a warm afternoon,
have a great dinner and then make passionate love. And I'd order Champagne and caviar for TWO, unlike Bond.
Most fun and easy to live with (in the real world) sports car I ever owned. 2008 Honda S2000 AP2V3. More fun than a Corvette or the two AMG's I owned. Just normal maintenance, gas, brakes, and tires. A true driver's car. Extremely high smiles per mile.
@msc545 ,
Originally a 2.0 liter (1997 cc or 122 cu in) inline 4 that put out 237 HP and 153 lb ft of torque. From a normally aspirated engine that revved to 9,000 rpm. It was the crown jewel of Honda's V-TEC cams and variable valve timing technology. The big deal was the highest specific output of any normally aspirated car engine of that time, besting even Ferrari with 123 hp per liter. Without forced induction (turbos or supercharger).
With the AP2 version Honda stroked the engine out to 2.2 liters 2,157 cc (2157 cc or 131.6 cu in). With the longer stroke they were forced to reduce the redline to 8,200 rpm to keep piston speed from getting out of control. Power remained unchanged at 237 HP but torque increased to 162 lb ft. It doesn't sound like much of a changed but the peak numbers were not the real story. It changed the whole power and torque curve and made the car a lot more drivable.
The transmission was an Aisin 6 speed manual. The S2000 was never offered with any automatic. The Aisin 6 speed was thought to be one of the best manual transmissions ever made. The AP2 version had Carbon fiber gear synchronizers and revised gear ratios to mate up with the new torque curve of the 2.2 liter engine. The feel was light, quick, and precise.
The chassis was what Honda called a "High X-Box Frame" that Honda borrowed from their Formula 1 cars.
The suspension was a lightweight compact double wishbone design ay all 4 corners. The wishbones, brake rotors, and calipers all fit inside the 17" forged aluminum wheels.
The car weighed 2,800 lbs.
Mine was custom tuned by Hondata in Houston. Not a huge bump in peak numbers but basically shifted the entire torque and power curve upward at all engine speeds and brought the V-Tec cam shift in earlier at slightly lower rpm.
It was not a straight line dragster. It was a momentum car. Fun at any speed. Power oversteer, trailing throttle oversteer, heel/toe shifting. Made for the twisties.
@Chayce ,
2004 SLK32 supercharged V6 and 5 speed manually shiftable automatic and 2014 SLK55 5.4 Liter V8 and a 7 speed automatic also manually shiftable. Both were automatics as that's the only thing AMG sells. I like drop tops, LOL. Preferable small lightweight ones.
SLK32 was a blast and powerful as hell at it's weight. I liked the folding metal roof for the quiet.
S2000 a friend owned one. I drove it and had to have one. So I got rid of the SLK32 for an S2000.
With the SLK55, I got tired of the S2000 because of the road noise only. That thing was a go kart. So I figured I'd go back to an SLK with the folding metal roof. Nice car but different weight class and handling compared to the SLK32 and the S2000. Still, pretty small and light though. 3,400 lbs I think. Both AMG's were also tuned by Hondata.
The SLK32 also had a custom supercharger pulley sold through Hondata. Super easy to increase power and torque on that car by swapping out the pulley and retuning the engine control software. 3,200 lbs with about 415 hp. Plenty to get in trouble, LOL.
Hondata also reprogrammed the 7 speed automatic for me so that I had full manual control. As In it would not upshift on its own near redline which was the factory setup. With the software change I could choose to let it upshift on its own or take full control. The Mercedes automatics were fine to live with.
@OneViewpoint Terrific info, many thanks! Glad I asked you!
SLK's and any small two seater convertible are dope. I never stepped in an SLK or an S2K, but I stepped in a Z3 and I understood why people like them for sure. I drove an EG civic hatch when I was younger and that car felt like a go kart, Hoping I can get to driving an S2K sometime soon. It's a shame Honda didn't make more RWD or AWD/4X4 vehicles either in their golden age up to now.
@msc545 ,
My neighbor owns a Ferrari California. Red of course. It's hilarious to me. It's beautiful to look at but it's not all that fast and it's a grand tourer, sorta porky at 3,800 lbs. Front engine, rear drive so not a Ferrari mid engine design. He won't drive it anywhere. He takes it out on a Sunday morning for about an hour cruise on back roads and then straight back into his garage. He would NEVER push it in a turn. He drives like a grandma. Hey, he just likes owning it and being seen. Whatever makes him happy. Personally I buy small lightweight sports cars to drive em like I stole em, ROFL.
@msc545 ,
I've never owned or driven a Miata but the current design looks great to me. And I love the fact that Mazda has stayed true to the original concept for what, like 35 years now. Very Porsche like mentality.
The car has stayed small, light, modestly powered, easy to own, and with huge aftermarket support from all over the world. Mazda has resisted the temptation to add power, increase the size, stuff it with tech, and generally pork up the weight and the price. I have to respect that.
I do want to own one before I check out for my dirt nap. It's like the S2000 but about 400 lbs lighter. Almost like a mass production Lotus Elise.
And like the S2000 or the Boxster, not a stoplight drag racer or the fastest car on the road but, I'm thinking I'd be smiling the entire time behind the wheel. One reason I'm not overly impressed with hyper cars or even a Vette at this point is that where I live there is about 0% change you'll ever get to use that power for more than 3 seconds. Just sorta useless temptation. But a lightweight sports car with the top down can be enjoyable at any speed on twisty roads.
One thing that's kept me from checking out a Miata is the interior space. I barely fit in the S2000 at 6'2". I'm wondering if I could fit in a Miata comfortably.
chance, not change... my typing sucks.
It depends. As a daily driver, just about any car will do. As long as it's reliable and doesn't drink fuel like there is no tomorrow. As some have pointed out, it gets you places, you park it, then drive it back home.
If it were a second car that's sitting in the garage ready for a fun spin, I'd go for a Chevrolet Corvette. Any of the C2 or C3 generations (1963 to 1982) will do nicely.
@Chayce Some owners at the time removed the split and modified it to a non-split rear, as it improved visibility. But the split window was a marvel in design and is aesthetically more pleasing.
Agreed, the late sixties and early seventies C3 Corvettes were the best.
I think they lost the appeal on the design board with the C4.
They didn't know what they had. I seen a light blue C2 (non-split) driving through my street in my small Canadian town and I was floored to say the least. Would have never expected to see one outside of a car show or a video to be honest.
C4 is your least favourite 'Vette? I wouldn't mind the ZR-1 in purple. That 4+3 shifter was unique as well.
I love cars, particularly the late 60's & early 70's American muscle cars.
The Charger, the GTO, the Camaro, etc; any of the muscle cars from that era. Big block V8's are some of the best sounding machines in history, and they are the best looking cars ever.
Yes, these are some of my favorite cars:
I like many cars but to name one brand, the BMWs of the Claus Luthe design era. E31 8-Series, E38 7-Series, E39 5-Series and E46 3-Series.
I am more of a truck or SUV guy but I can appreciate some of muscle cars from the 60s and 70s. If I was to buy a new car today I would buy the Ford GT.
All cars are the same.. what's the purpose of a car? To get you from point A to point B and all cars need repairs at some point and all cars require insurance and all cars need maintenance. Give it a different coat of paint different body style different engine or in some cases battery if electric different transmission but in the end they're all the same with the same purpose headaches and frustrations and you still have to pay taxes on all if them regardless of the year make and model of the vehicle
Yes, it's an important song in music history.
My favorite is the extended version.
A car is a transportation device, a way of getting from one place to another. I prefer a small fuel efficient vehicle, like Honda Civic or Toyota Corolla, one that doesn't cost an arm and a leg to buy and maintain.
This BEAST:
A REAL car for a different era.
The Chevy Nova, Dodge Dart & Ford Mustang round it out.
Whatever the fates grant me. I'm a peaceful person but that's a car jacking that might be worth it!!
I go for the classics.
69 SS 396 Chevelle convertible, 69 Boss 429, 69 Mach 1 428 SCJ, early Hemi road runner, cuda/challenger, 55 Chevy old school gasser, barely street legal,
I like a 1973 corvette stingray. Or a Rally Fighter I’ve been in love with since Fast & Furious 8? Only a few were made but I love them.
Daily would be like a black 4x4 of some sort on silver wheels, and my garage queen would be like an '07 DBS or like a Jag XKR convertible.
@newboy78 being the white nerd guy that I am, I'll say a small hatchback if you google Mazda2 from 2014 onwards
i don't know anything about cars and i don't care honestly, as long as it looks cool and has ac and isn't broken
Not a huge car guy, except I became enamored with corvettes when I was a child. I'l love and early 90's ZR1
I love cars. Dont really have a favorite.
I like all kinds..
BMW is my favorite especially dark blue one
The one that has a handsome and loving man in it ready to take me for a ride.
I like cars. I'm not sure what my favorite is. I like sports cars.
Reliant Robin.
Hmmm
Used to love cars, now I don't care at all about cars. My favorite is the one I have which is the Audi A5 2016 premium plus model.
Late 40's or early 50's Chevrolets, Pontiacs, Buicks, Cadillacs, and Oldsmobiles
Really gag? Really? Wtf is objectionable about this post?
I like vehicles that bring my butt from A to B, not necessarily just cars.
I don't like cars that much or very interested in them. So I don't have a favorite.
Only old cars love classics , my favourite is the aston Martin
My favorite is Lamborghini.! I know Tesla has Games to play while you drive. But Lambo has impressive speed, performance, and unique designs
To me a car is a means to get from point A to point B.
Corvette ZR1, not sure which year, in the last 5 probably.
I love cars, if you are asking which one is my fav. from this pic then all of these😌
My dream car since I was a child is a vw yellow van third generation.
1933 Packard Twelve Convertible.
‘66-‘69 mustang fastback.
Preferably Shelby
Nah I'm more of a truck person
I don't like.
Honda civic ek sedan
I hate cars. Wealth dumps.
