I spent probably 25 years dealing with insects like they're nothing at all, then I've been in relationship with one girl who was throwing away the spiders though the window instead of crushing them like I did. At first, I found this practice funny, strange, like it's a bug why does she care? But at some point, her prectice made sense to me so I started doing what she does. I don't know and I can't know how life and death feels from the perspective of a bug. It didn't make me feel okay with the presence of spiders around, and I'll still crush some insects I can't capture easily, the fast crawlers for example, because there's still a visceral sensation I have. But often enough I use the glass and piece of paper technique to capture and paradrop the intruder outdoors
It depends on what kind of bug. Anything that is really bad, must be stomped out as soon as possible.
It depends what bug it is. Here we have hornets and scorpions so I can't really afford to risk and unfortunately I have to step on them.
I pick it up with a broom and throw it outside.
I usually pull my foot back. I actually hate stepping on bugs. Creeps me out

I specifically watch out for worms and slugs. I love those guys.
Nah. Those can die. π
Pull my foot back cause insect gross me out and I don' want to touch it
It depends. I will avoid snails, non-poisonous spiders, and the such.
I kill it, but with a different means of force than my foot. I usually grab a paper towel, and smash it with my hand.
I step twice to make sure it's dead
