How many people try to hide the fact that they wear glasses?

I know in school it was a much more common issue but I wonder how many people keep them off dating sites or even profile pictures and stuff, or they wait a while before they come clean hag they have glasses? 🤔

I wear contact lenses now but reading glasses now that I'm getting older. It was a pain in the nose when I was younger because the prescription of my glasses is like the Hubble Space Telescope and the lenses required for that level of refraction are pretty thick (think beer tumblers from Germany then put one on each eye then you can imagine the weight when it's glass is pretty intense on the bridge of the nose. Sport was a comedy with regular ball in the puss events since football (the real kind where a ball is KICKED with a foot) was the thing boys did and some girls tried.

Now the lighter +3 reading ones I have on now are wire framed and of much more wearable. My old ones +10 would not be pretty.

Not me I wear them proudly lol I’m so blind and plus I’d forget if I had contacts in and sleep and shower with them on my memory isn’t the best but I stopped going to get them checked cuz they would always increase my prescription which made my vision worse

That's fucked up, they would damage your eyes to make you buy more expensive lenses, if I'm not mistaken, now they have surgery to restore your vision, I guess it's an option, although I don't recall what the risk levels are but if I'm not mistaken it was quite low for something so fragile,

Yea the laser eye surgery I’m too broke for that lol and I think glasses are a part of my look atp I had them since 8 altho I do think I look better without 😑

Oh it does… I think anyways I wear geometric shape glasses currently my new ones they’re oversized , broke after a few months so I reverted to my old ones

It's crazy, when I was in school, girls would wear glasses purely as an accessory. They didn't need them but thought they looked cute wearing them.

That's pretty interesting, I guess it's only among people that are actually in need of them that feel self conscious, it makes sense since the people that do it for fashion don't need them, they can just drop them whenever they want but people that need them, it becomes a part of them basically

i do like its why i sleep early, but my brain hates me

most nights, i'll wake up 2-3 times in fight or flight mode like super tense, then i gotta spend like 30 minutes calming down. sometimes ik im not relaxed enough to sleep, so i just distract myself on my phone for a little bit

so if i ever sound dead inside or snappy, then its probably why lol
