Are people ashamed of wearing glasses?

It seems to be quite common, even in school I used to see people hide their glasses and stuff, is it really that big of a deal?

I think glasses look cute on girls/women, and can sometimes be super sexy. It depends on the frames.

Glasses are like accessories. They can make a woman look meek, shy, vulnerable, nerdy, smart, elegant, or authoritative. It depends on her glasses and her attitude.

They can be used to dramatic effect for nonverbal body language.

A woman can do suggestive things with them like, for example slide them down her nose to look over the top at you, or toy with the temple tip between her front teeth.

I guess the same things could apply to men's glasses.

Anyway, I don't wear glasses, but I never thought they looked stupid or anything. I never paid attention unless a girl with glasses looked cute.

It’s not about being ashamed it’s about Being Treated as if your Weak like your just some Victim like your just some Kid or like your A ahhh you poor thing You need to wear glasses or you can’t see when I’m actuality You can see But Everyone treats you like you can’t see and When you say You can see they ask if you can see that sign That’s super far away and when you can’t your considered a victim of needing of glasses. Like your some Person that has a Vision disability when your not blind you just can’t see Far away small words.

Well, for me it's the opposite. I feel more ashamed if i don't have mines. Maybe, it's because I've been using them since I was 6-7 years old, and get use to it. So, when I'm not with them or I have to remove them for any reason, it's like feeling "naked".

Also there are some friends of mine who use glasses too, and they share the same mindset as mine.

It's normal to be ashamed but soon more and more people will have them  You know why  Too much screens and too much time looking at screens so it will not be a big thing 30 years from now

I don't know anyone ashamed of wearing glasses... but I know a few that are annoyed with them and don't feel them as comfortable, so they go with contact lenses

Not at all. I’ve wear glasses all my life and the only thing that I think really sucks is that no one has designed glasses to play soccer. I hate playing with my glasses because I don’t feel confident of hitting the ball with my head without being worried the ball will break my glasses. Soooo anyone out there who is willing to design this, I will be your first client and I’m sure you will have a bunch of blind customers willing to pay anything for comfort during the game. 😊 thank you

Well I'm not ashamed of wearing regular glasses but I was afraid of wearing sports goggles which are like glasses but for physical activities because I thought they made me look weird so I avoided wearing them because I didn't want people to laugh at me

With age I need them for reading.
The ones I use the most are called clicks.
They have a plastic frame that goes around your neck and magnets in the middle of the nose piece.
You simply put the 2 magnets together when you want to wear them, and split them apart when you don't need them and they simply hang around your neck.
They cost about 40 bucks.

No, I think bullying people who wear glasses is a thing of the past, where I live at least. I’ve never been called 4-eyes, and will joke about my glasses being my “readers” like old people have. I don’t mind having glasses, but I don’t like wearing them all the time so I only wear them when necessary like driving and in the classroom if I can’t see the board.
