Did you ever see the moon so massively huge, it looked like it was right next to us?

Back in the early to mid `70's, we were in the alley just after dinner playing Kickball when one of us spotted this ABSOLUTELY HUGE yellow and white "globe" way down at the end of the alley at least 4 blocks away!! It more than spanned the alley twice over and was at least a few hundred feet high and kept slowly rising!!!
We all stopped the game, jumped on our bikes and sped down to the end of the alley to get a better glimpse at what looked like a huge hot air balloon about to lift off!!
At this point, the waterworks land (a mile from where we were playing) was completely vacant and a HUGE expanse of land several years before it got turned into a major hospital and a mile long shopping mall!! So, THAT'S where we thought the balloon was lifting off from! At the end of the alley, we had to slide over to 2nd St. about 20' away and go another 4 blocks to get to the filtration plant but, by the time we got there, we discovered it WASN'T a balloon at all!! It was the MOON and it was FUCKING HUUUUUGE!!!
I've never seen the Moon that huge or that close again since then!!

It's kinda hard to tell in this perspective but, I'd say it's close to what Neptune or Uranus looked like in this video (except for the colour).

Yes, once. I woke up about 3 in the morning and through this huge picture window saw it setting over the Pacific Ocean. The moon was bright white and the water and air looked like spun silver. The whole world was silver. It was magical. I was transported to another world in that moment. Then I drifted back into sleep.

Yes! When I was a young girl about 9 years old, I used to sit on the curb in front of my house and stare at the moon 🌝.
Do you know if you stare at the moon long enough you can actually see his face?

Well, that wouldn't have been the same one I saw. I would've been 7. The one I saw was maybe 7 years later about the early `70's.
I've looked, all I can ever see is an upside down bunny.

I was the odd friend that told everyone "That's called a harvest moon. It looks bigger due to the atmospheric conditions this time of year." They didn't even mind. lol "Okay. Cool."

Haven't seen it. If you have an alley about 3 cars wide, the Moon was at least 6 cars wide (compared to the alley).

Yes, but wider and I could see loads of craters very clearly!! They were a pale yellow while the uncratered parts were mostly white with a grey tint.
