Technically time does not exist. Events do.
A second is before it is a unit of time a standardized event we use to represent time. For bragging rights it is actually the number of oscillations of radiation that a cesium 133 atom emits.
Okay. Now to the answer. Because time is fake and events exist what truly makes time go by fast is that we do not experience time but events. As we age we expose ourselves to less new and exciting events, but our body still operates. Which is why it feels like time went by so fast because the number of events were fewer. Which also means that the cure to make time go by slower is to do more interesting things.00 Reply

m 1 yObjectively speaking. The way we understand time, it is going at the same pace, on earth. Especially from the perspective of a machine?
Subjectively speaking. That's us, hello fellow humans! We experience time as a sensation, not as concrete data. Yes, I do feel like time is passing by quicker when I'm enjoying my life, enjoying what I do. Whereas, when disliking what I do, then the passage of time feels absurdly slow to me. I expect us all to have this sensation related to pleasure.

Scientifically speaking, the Earth as actually slowed gradually over time causing days to be minutely longer over the centuries (however, that's not something we can perceive or experience in our day to day life).
But, to your question, I think as we get older, our experiences increase and every day is a smaller percent of our life which may make it feel like it's moving faster. So, it's our perception of time that changes.

The older you get, the faster it seems to go! And you're only 21.

You will go through moods uou will be thinking something. Forget about what you're thinking. I mean, all kinds of things are going to be happening, but you'll feel a change, especially on the full moon on the 13th. New beginnings or no where you will become the real you. You should really have a Journalf for the next few days and write down everything that happens.. you will want to be more by your self in these day ... the people you have been nice to. But really the suck The oxygen from you you'll find a nice way to say goodbye

1 yAccording to Einstein's Theory of Relativity, the faster you go, the longer time takes, it's called Time Dilation. The converse is also true. The slower you go, the faster time passes.
The Earth's rotation is slowing down. We lost a few milliseconds last year.
Put the two together...

1 yIt seems quicker. At ten the previous year of your life was 10% of the total. At 20, 5%. I just hit 30, so the past year was 3-1/3% of my life to that point. Each year is a smaller %, so it seems quicker because we compare it to our entire life till then.

1 yEverything is relative, isn't it? When we are very concentrated for instance on some particular task or activity, we do not notice time passing by.

1 yThe older you are, the quicker time goes by in your perception. Simply because the time you've already experienced becomes larger and larger compared to your known time intervals like minutes, hours, days, months and years.

1 yIt's you. The older you get, a year occupies a smaller percentage of your lifetime. So from your perspective a year starts to fly by when it's only 2% of your lifetime, for example.
