Tips on what I can do to help with glare on tv/ room in general?

My living room is basically half windows which means unfortunately there is a large window right behind my couch directly in line with the TV. Basically we've just been keeping that curtain shut 24/7 which obviously isn't great for the integrity of the curtains (I hate them anyway everything in this damn house is grey) or for the state of filth on the windows. When they're open the room is just so bright and glarey and because we have a corner property it means you can Basically get a 180 view of our lounge from the street.

I feel like my only options are to just keep the curtains shut, maybe I could add some sheer curtains to filter the light but my cat may ruin them.

Or

Get a frosted glass film which i don't think my partner is too keen on.

Let me know if you have any other ideas that may work
