Who trades on metamask?

I created a post awhile ago saying I started to trade here. I'm in metamask and trade on dydx and I'm trying to withdraw from it. I can't so I contacted support. Rep says I need to pay gains tax 10% it comes to $4100. I tried googling it and I got mixed comments about this being legit or scam. I would hate to put 4100 in it if it's a scam. I'm kinda stuck on what to do. I put a post on quaro too to see what others say. I'm trying to take out 14g but I have 42g in it. If it's a scam then there is no 42g but I don't know now. What would you do?

don't use metamask and haven't really sold anything especially that much so haven't dealt with capital gains yet
But pretty sure capital gains tax should be on what you're trying to take out not how much you have in your wallet. It's also how much you take out minus how much you paid for it including fees
So if you bought a crypto for 1k and it went to 5k you pay capital gains tax on the 4k that you made
And if thats correct 10% of 13k is 1.3k

The rep is telling me I owe 4136 from 41k total. Deposits and trading.

Some comments from reddit are saying are saying dydx is a scam but those comments are not from my questions on reddit

I haven't heard of dydx so I don't know how they work

Are you able to trade using another DEX or CEX maybe see what the fees are for that

Also capital gains aren't taken out right away. If they're using the term capital gains tax then probably it is a scam unless you live outside the US as I'm not sure how that works in other countries
In the US you should be getting a specific form for capital gains yearly where you report gains/losses

Im in California. I have 8g into it. My internet girlfriend got me in this. She transfered 10g into my account. We traded the rest to make 40g. If it is a scam I lost 8g. What if it's not and I can get what I want. Do I putv4136 and get my money or i put 4136 and they take it.

It's weird cause girlfriend uses it a lot. She sends me screen shots on what she has got. But googles comments say both it's a scam and others say it's real.

Ask yourself did you know her in real life? Was that all she was talking about? Does she show interest in you outside of crypto? Is she saying you should pay the 4k?
If she seems genuine I would talk to her to figure out who gets how much of the crypto.
Have you tried
To clarify she doesn't have access to your wallet right cause that's a big red flag and would make things much harder to maneuver

She does. Not have access to my metamask or dydx. We do talk about other topics.

It is ONE HUNDRED PERCENT A SCAM. I had 30g in mine, and as soon I tried to withdraw the money they hit me with an $8000 tax.

It's a complete scam. I'm sorry

If you want tge truth, just don't try to take anything out and don't pay the tax. You'll find that there's nothing they can do to get you to pay it other than scare you.

But you're never getting your original investment back either

There are companies on are Google that say they can get it out. Hackers I guess. Wonder if they would just take it all if I hired then.

If they did that, it would be worth it. You're not getting your money either way, but at least they don't get to keep scamming people.

I would be scared to pay the tax they could keep that too. Ask your internet girlfriend if she can pay the tax.
